A NEW York dad has massacred his family overnight, marching from room to room, shooting his two daughters, his girlfriend and her mother in the head before later killing himself, police said. The New York Post reports that the only survivor is the couple’s 12-year-old daughter, who managed to call police and talk to them for about 15 minutes despite being shot in the head and having the bullet exit through her eye, sources said. The girl was rushed to Long Island Jewish Medical Centre in a critical condition. The bodies of Viola Warren, 62, and her daughter, Shantai Hale, 31, were discovered in one bedroom, while little 7-year-old Kayla Walker was found in another bedroom.
http://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/shot-girl-called-cops-on-killer-dad-jonathan-walker-in-new-york/story-fnh81jut-1227195955472
That's one fucked up beginning to one's lifestory.
It's amazing what the human body can sometimes survive. Holy shit

Brain occupies like only half the head's volume (at least if you count portion of the neck), and if you consider one can be functional with just one of the frontal lobes, the actually "cannot do without" portion is pretty small. Had he hit the cerebellum or severed the spinal cord, and no amount of adrenaline could have kept her alive for as much as second longer, but if he hit her temple at angle where the bullet exited through the eye, on the same side, nothing is in the way of that, really.
This is like that one old lady who got shot in the head by her husband who them killed himself, then aswered the door when the deputy arrived a few minutes later with a rag over her forehead and offered him some tea. Pretty crazy stuff.
Think of how this'll paint the girl's entire life. So utterly terrible.
It's stuff like this that makes me question the human race sometimes... how one's own self-conflicts can bring them to destroy everything they loved... by reading that story, I saw nothing relating this to a mercy killing, this is just plain psychopathy.
What does one become after surviving this?
What does one become after surviving this?
Either a complete mental wreck or a really strong person. Dont think theirs an inbetween.
Holy Crap, Hope the girls get proper treatment and help, this will be hell on their mental health for the rest of their lives more than likely
Either a complete mental wreck or a really strong person. Dont think theirs an inbetween.
Of course there's an in between... If anything, you must struggle in between to get to either side in the first place.
It must have hurt quite a bit, I'd imagine.
Christ, what snaps in someone's head that can allow them to do this?
It must have hurt quite a bit, I'd imagine.
Physically, I doubt she felt much actual pain. Shock's a helluva thing.
I'm surprised that a twelve-year-old had the mind to call the cops amid all that extreme trauma.
I'm surprised that a twelve-year-old had the mind to call the cops amid all that extreme trauma.
She probably had no recourse otherwise. I mean you're told from an early age that if you're in trouble and can't find help, call 911.
It's stuff like this that makes me question the human race sometimes...
the answer to that is easy there are messed up people and thats that, there is nothing wrong with the human race
Our bodies are incredible machines, and a huge amount of people don't realize how complicated we are. Which is why i don't understand people who are content to throw their body away. It's the most amazing thing you'll own, and you only get one.
