The jailbreak is semi-tethered. This means when you reboot your device it will be in a non-jailbroken state. This is different from other semi-tethered jailbreaks however as it uses an app to simply rejailbreak. Just open the app, hit the button and you're jailbroken again. Pangu has released the English version of the jailbreak. You can find out how to install it below. http://en.pangu.io/ The jailbreak is also for 64 bit devices only (iPhone 5s or up). However, Luca Todesco (qwertyoruiopz) has mentioned it could be possible to port it to 32 bit. Also, qwertyoruiopz says that the jailbreak will work on iOS 10 Beta 2.
FAQ: What's a tethered jailbreak? What's the difference? Basically, now each time you reboot your iDevice, you need to rejailbreak. You don't have to connect your device to your computer, but you still have to open the PP App for a re-jailbreak. The only difference of it from an untethered jailbreak is that tethered jailbreak require a re-jailbreak after a reboot while the untethered doesn't. Do I have to re-jailbreak after a respring? Nope! Do the tweaks stay after the reboot? Or would I have to reinstall all tweaks? All the tweaks will stay and the device will be back as if it was jailbroken the whole time once you re-jailbreak through the app after a reboot.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/KCS288p.jpg[/t]
I'll stick with my 3GS that runs on 4.11. :P It's glorious.
It's interesting how they are marketing the jailbreak: 1. Jailbreak on the demand They are turning what is normally a bad thing into a good thing. If you reboot, you lose the jailbreak. They say that this gives you full control of when you want to jailbreak and when you want to remove it. I feel like it isn't a feature more so a roadblock that they haven't figured out how to allow it to stay jailbroken after reboots.
:snip:
Apple has done a good job at patching security issues in iOS and I'm sure it must be difficult to create an untethered jailbreak these days.
Some apps don't work if they detect a jailbreak.
Lots of those apps will have a tweak that stops them from detecting a jailbreak. For example, Pokemon Go has Masterball (which is working in iOS 9.3.3).
gg
iOS was nice while I used it, but the jailbreaking process is one I don't miss. Still, it's amazing to me that after all this time they're still managing to break through the OS's security and get the phones jailbroken. It's incredible work. I always love whenever someone finds a way to break into a locked down system somehow. For example: depending on your OS version and type of 3DS, there's like 10 ways to homebrew a 3DS. My personal choice is using my Action Replay to throw a modified Ocarina of Time save file on my cart and load the homebrew launcher through that, and that's just because I decide to begin bothering with homebrew until like the week after they patched an exploit that allowed you to use the stock web browser to get homebrew running. Jailbreaking and homebrew shit is one of my favorite things to see happen because it's always some exploit somewhere nobody expected and someone stumbled upon it.
Yeah, the JB teams themselves say it's a miracle anything after 7.x is done, Apple's put so much redundant security into the OS now :v:
imo, I believe Apple is going to snap some day and release an iOS which has the same freedoms that Android has. It would be a massive selling point and I'm sure their sales would fucking explode. I'll remain optimistic though ;')
time to finally upgrade beyond 8.4 heh
iOS devices are honestly fine for the general public, but this level of bullshit about jailbreaking is the main reason why I refuse to buy them for myself.

You can also remove all ads in YouTube, which is a plus. https://cydia.angelxwind.net/?page/net.angelxwind.mikoto

Wasn't that bad. I guess it depends on what you use your phone for.
64 bit devices only... Well I guess I'm staying on iOS 7 then.
What are you on? 4S? I have no clue how the perf situation was, but it SUCKED for the 4. Use OdysseusOTA to go back to speedy old 6 and re-jailbreak. Just get chrome or Firefox or something when you get there.
fuck dude I just went to iOS 10 beta 2 last night.
fuck dude I just went to iOS 10 beta 2 last night.
iOS 10 is better than jailbroken iOS 9. What do you want, emulators?
iOS 10 is better than jailbroken iOS 9. What do you want, emulators?
Well, you get themes, element replacement, etc., ad removal, location faking, unlocked carriers, banned apps, password solutions.... That's the short list. Jb isn't just emulators, and the GBA thing works on 9.3.3 anyhow
Good, giving back the users what they deserve, props to anyone that works in jailbreaking devices, you do god's work.

Also ad removal is already available, and I know there's 1Password for a password solution probably others too. Not fully sure what banned apps you'd want, but providing it's a free app that's only available in another country you can just sign up with an iTunes account registered for said country. Themes are nice. Not sure what you'd want to do with location faking unless you're cheating Pokemon Go
fuck dude I just went to iOS 10 beta 2 last night.
Downgrade while you can.
Kinda sucks that the tool won't even run on my surface with Windows 10. People are saying 10 fucks it up?

I guess I'll have to stick with ios7 until this phone dies.
I have an iphone 6 laying around thats been disabled, would I still be able to jailbreak it?
Kinda sucks that the tool won't even run on my surface with Windows 10. People are saying 10 fucks it up?
Same issue here, guess I'll wait for the English version.
Works fine for me on Windows 10. You get a loading circle after trying to launch and then nothing happens. Checked Task Manager for anything running but there doesn't seem to be anything there. Downloaded it multiple times as well so it shouldn't be that.
Thank god.. Been waiting forever for this JB.
