I've been keeping to date with "The Walking Dead" series of course. I'm also currently reading Cormac McCarthy's "Blood Meridian" although 75% of the way through I'm still not that into it. TWD however is fantastic. I was wondering if anyone knows any good sci-fi, apocalyptic, western, cyberpunk, or just any REALLY good (preferably completed so I can download/buy the entire thing in one go) comic series or novel (series or not).
I've already read Watchmen, V for Vendetta, The Road, TWD, World War Z (which I often find recommended in this types of threads).
Just randomly thought of this, the Darren Shan series was pretty good. I read it many years ago so maybe it isn't as good as I think. Its about vampires so you may find it interesting, it is very gritty from what I remember.

I'm not saying its bad, but after the latest Twilight craze, I've been put off anything vampire, including the original Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Conquerors' Pride by Timothy Zahn is a book that I like and it is the first in a pretty cool trilogy. They were like, my favorite three books for a while
They're not thematically ambitious or anything but if you want something that's extremely entertaining and stylistically good you could do a lot worse.
The Wheel of Time Series, It isn't completed yet, and the original author is dead, but it's really deep, awesome fantasy.
Agree with Ismael12. Hardcore fantasy right there.
Since you've already made your way through Watchmen and V for Vendetta, try From Hell. It's amazing, especially when you take into account that pretty much everything and everyone in it is real.
Dunno if you can buy it in one go, but the Tintin comic book series was bloody amazing.
As for novels, read The Name of the Wind. Amazingly well written book.
Jeremiah
The Quest for the Time-Bird
Spawn
The Crow
The Darkness
Read a manga...
Hahahahahahaha, nah don't, just don't.

Is that the one about Jack the Ripper? Frankly, I'll read anything by Alan Moore, except his creepy child porn stuff.

lol'd.
Read From Hell. It's about the Jack the Ripper killings and it's written by Alan Moore.

damn how did I miss that
Read the Sandman comics by Niel Gaiman. It's a fantasy/horror about the adventures of the anthropomorphic personification of dreams. It's better than it sounds really.
The Sword Of Truth series.
Nice. I'm on book 6 of The Walking Dead. They are like $12.00 so I haven't bought any recently.
Not really a series but you should read any book written by Phillip K. Dick.
Read the Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner.
The Goon and Transmetropolitan are two of the best comic series I've ever read.

So you should too.
Harry Potter.
Crossed is a pretty good series if you can acquire it. It shares several common themes with The Walking Dead, but it features a gratuitous amount of gore, mostly just for gore's sake.
On the other hand, if you like alternative history, then there's an excellent series called storming paradise about an alternate history where a catastrophic failure in the Manhattan project forces the united states to invade the Japanese home islands.
I'm a big fan of Terry Brooks. He's got a bunch of inter-related series out, all pretty good. I'd recommend you check out his stuff.
if you read world war z, read the zombie survival guide written by the same guy (i forget his name)
A Song of Ice & Fire series by George RR Martin

Excellent medieval/fantasy series.
Can't go wrong with the original Tolkien Lord of the Rings.
For comics, I've been reading the Sandman series. Very creepy, but pretty interesting.
The Road by Cormac, World War Z Max Brooks.
