I've got squirrels in my attic, freeloading off all that is mine. I fear they will fuck wires and shit up or die in my walls and ruin my day. I bought two traps to catch the bastards, every day for the past week I'd go up and the traps would be shut and locked, with no foul beasts inside. So today I set up a surveillance camera to monitor what these beasts are doing. I also figured the squirrel was too big so when the door of the cage fell it hit his back and the lock doesn't engage until it makes contact with the bottom of the cage, so he has a chance to pull his body out. So on one trap I put one side against a box and put the peanut butter against the back side of the trap, past the table that sets it off, hoping his whole body would be in the trap when it set off. He had other plans...
I put the peanut butter on a small piece of paper towel.

I don't wanna shoot him with a pellet gun, he'll run off and die in my wall. I also want this mother fucker alive. What should I do?
Also, notice the dirt like shit all over the floor? That's a special pepper like substance MEANT TO WARD OFF SQUIRRELS! Oh yeah, and that bottle with a blue top in the top left of the picture, THAT'S THE BOTTLE CONTAINING THE SQUIRREL-AWAY. Fuckers.
Get a trap that has a dead end with thinner mesh, might be harder to escape
Actually, pellet guns can be quite effective.
Anyway, you seem to be balls deep in this operation with the video feed and the elaborate traps, i say go all out and get weight triggered explosive devices of some kind, or an anvil, whatever.

I've considered getting attic box camo, and watching with a .22 and subsonic ammo. That's a bit extreme though...
I feel the pellet gun won't kill on impact, and it'll go die in my wall and stink up my place. Again, I want these fuckers ALIVE, I need that satisfaction.

If you can find an old bird cage or something, and use the trap system from these traps, I'm sure that will be fine.

.22 Long easily penetrates brick walls, so don't do that. Not even with subsonic.

Don't think it would be worth the effort, the design of the trap is kinda specific to this trap. The arms wrap around the box to the tray, when the tray breaks contact with the arms it drops shut.

Lol no it won't you idiot. Standard 4-inch redbrick won't get penetrated by .22 LR.
Get a .17 HMR gun and blow it to kingdom come. It'll explode as soon as you shoot it (literally, I've seen it,) so there's no chance of it running off and dying and stinking up your attic.

Set up a few snares, one by the entrance/exit should work pretty well if done correctly.

22lr subsonic veocity = ~1000fps, .222in

I tried it, the size of him allowed him to grab a handful and get out cause the door went down on his back, and the lock won't engage unless it's all the way down, I figured if I put it on the other side and put it against the box he would go in all the way to get it. I'm just gonna get a bigger trap.
Why not zip tie the paper towel to the trap, or put boxes on the sides?
