• Small rattling sound from PSU

My PSU: Thermaltake TR2 TR-500 (got it on sale when it was pretty cheap. not great, not total horseshit. it's meh.) Hey FP, I sure have had a few issues recently So I have been having this rattling/vibrating sound in my computer for a while now, and I could never track where it came from. With further analysis, I managed to track it down to somewhere in the PSU. I dunno if it's the fan, one of the capacitors, or what. It's not super fucking loud, but it's audible. I can drown it out playing games or watching videos. I'd compare the sound to the sounds an HDD makes but a bit louder. I would like to know if this poses a huge threat, like causing my PSU to blow and take all my other parts with it, or if it can be chalked as a minor annoyance. Also, if there are any fixes out there, temporary or permanent. I'm not gonna open up the PSU, and I can't buy a new one until the end of the month. As always, thanks in advance
One way to find out is to stop the PSU fan with a screwdriver and find out if the sound still persists. But DO NOT do this too long, about 5 seconds max. If you still hear the noise you talk about, you might have a more serious problem. But on the other hand, when your PSU fan is failing you should be worried. If that fan decides to die, hot spots will develop inside your PSU and it gets devil hot there, overheats and I don't want to know what will happen then.

(yes, it's on the floor. sue me.) video: one of the screws that holds the back case cover was a little loose, tightening it made the noise a tad quieter, even though i don't think that has anything to do with the PSU...that was after i uploaded the video above
Could be your case side cover having a very annoying resonance, do you still get the noise when the cover is removed? Try to hold the PSU as tight as possible with your hands and listen.
wow...this is wierd. playing around the position of the power cord that connects the psu and power outlet changes the noise. it's almost gone when i move it a certain way... do i need to buy a new cord?
Holy fuck, get that cord replaced as fast as possible. Or take the cable of your monitor, that's also a idea to try, just to find out if your cable is damaged or not.
