he might know he is going to be convicted or get deferred prosecution. in that case why would you take it seriously at all?
i mean if i was arrested for something like disturbing the peace, public intoxication, or other minor shit like that then yea the whole courtroom would be a joke to me.

Seems pretty ridiculous to have light switches in the cell, you could just turn the light off and stand by the door, when they come in to turn the light on, shove them into the cell and shut the door as I doubt they can be opened from inside

We don't know how the rest of the building was designed, or any of the building for that matter. For all we know, that used to be a storage closet. But other than that, they need to put the switch somewhere, and on the outside might not have been a good place. I could ask why the switch in my room turns off the power, above all, some designs are just nonsense.

I also doubt someone busted on a public disturbance charge or even a DUI would pull something like that off, but for the ambitious high-stakes crook? That's textbook.
