• Piano Emulating Software?

I am not sure how to explain my question, but recently I have been really getting into the piano. I borrowed my friend's cheap Yamaha keyboard but I really want that authentic acoustic grand piano sound. The low quality midi type sound is really a turn off for me but I can't afford even a higher end keyboard, let alone an acoustic. Now, I have seen some people use their electric drum kits or even keyboards with the sound files from Addictive Drums which sound fantastic. Now if I connect my keyboard to the PC, is there any software out there that can emulate grand acoustic piano sounds at a decent level? I've found some software like Virtual Piano but some seem really sketchy. Perhaps someone could recommend me some good software that can do this.
you can use "Synthesia" for that .... You need to open a "midi" but you can stop automaticly playing and then play your own """songs""" ;D But whatever... A Real Piano is better ;) but you have to use a midi connection between Keyboard & PC to use it. Or the other way would be "Fruity Loops" ... Actually its a Music Production Software, but you can use it to emulate sounds like grand piano, Synth effects and guitarsounds and play them with your keyboard. It sounds really nice, but it isn´t for free
Actually, I do have Fruity Loops which I use with Addictive Drums to make drum tracks for songs. I didn't know they had piano sounds/good sounds. I really dig that heavily reverberated tone that grand pianos have. And yeah, this is one of those moments where I wish we inherited a big piano from dead relatives like half the other dudes living near me, but we didn't and I can't afford one. But anwyays, I will have to go out and buy a midi to USB cable. Such a ripoff, $50 for a Yamaha UX16 cable.
MixCraft seems to be really decent. Comes with awesome drums.
Piano Suite is the best if you want anything with pianos.
I'll check up some of these programs. I also came across Art Vista Grand Piano which caught my eye (Or should I say ears). It sounds great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNA9ViVgRUw.
If you're willing to spend a bit, 'akoustik piano' by native instruments is really really good. http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/akoustik-piano/
MixCraft seems to be really decent. Comes with awesome drums.
I'm listening to videos of MixCraft. It seems like a pretty good tool. I might get the trial and check it out. I want to learn a lot more about it first, though. Thanks for bringing this up. (I'm always looking for good software for music making :buddy:) [editline]woo[/editline] Already, so I just listened to this remake of Lamb of God's "Now You've Got Something to Die For" made in MixCraft (drums made in beatcraft), and I'm absolutely stunned by how well the guitar sounds. Can anyone who actually uses/used MixCraft confirm that you can make those guitar sounds with MixCraft, or were they recorded externally? He says he used the virtual keyboard chart to make the guitar and bass.
Truepianos Is amazing. http://www.truepianos.com/ got the lite version with my CME Midi Keyboard and It blew me away. The £130 price tag Isn't overly expensive either. The test version might prove of enough use (If it's anything like the lite version...)
