• Advice on new rig

Hey, I'm considering to buy a new gaming computer. I want to run new games at high grapics and good FPS, like MW2 and maybe crysis? I've never built a computer from parts, but I want to try. So, what do you think of this rig? Does the mobo support i5 and the GPU, any parts which is do not want? :S I'm not good at hardware. This is from a norwegian store, hence the relative high prices compared to US ones. Should I wait for the new 300 nVidea series? Case; Cooler Master HAF 922 Midi Tower Black Fans: 1x 200mm Front, 1x 200mm Top, 1x 120mm Back, Mobo; ASUS P7P55D EVO, P55, Socket-1156 DDR3, ATX, 2xGbLAN, Firewire, eSATA, PCI-Ex(2.0)x16 RAM; Corsair Dominator DHX+ DDR3 1600MHz 6GB Kit w/3x 2GB XMS3 modules, CL8-8-8-24, for Core i7 PSU ; Corsair HX 750W PSU ATX 12V V2.2, 80 Plus Silver, Modular, 4x 6+2-pin PCIe, 12x SATA, 140mm Vifte GPU; Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0, 2xDVI-I, HDMI, DisplayPort, 725/1000MHz, "Dirt 2", Full CPU ; Intel Core™ i5 Quad Processor i5-750 2,66GHz, Socket LGA1156, 8MB, Boxed Hardrive; WD Caviar® Black 1TB 3,5", SATA, 32MB Cache, Dual Processor, 7200RPM Dvd-rom; Samsung DVD-ROM SH-D162D Black, IDE, OEM Total ; 9.507,00 NOK= 1 624 USD
Get 4GBs. You can't use triple channel with core i5s, only dual-channel. 3x2GBs is meant for socket 1136 i7s. You don't need 6GBs for gaming anyways. The motherboard works with both the CPU and GPU. Also, you can bump the PSU down to 650 watts or even 600 watts. It will be cheaper and your computer won't use more than 550 watts underload.

Thanks! Okay, new suggestion for rig; Case; Cooler Master HAF 922 Midi Tower Black Fans: 1x 200mm Front, 1x 200mm Top, 1x 120mm Back, Mobo; ASUS P7P55D EVO, P55, Socket-1156 DDR3, ATX, 2xGbLAN, Firewire, eSATA, PCI-Ex(2.0)x16 RAM; Corsair Dominator DHX+ DDR3 1600MHz 4GBKit w/2x 2GB XMS3 modules, CL8-8-8-24, for Core i5 and i7, 1.65V PSU ; Corsair HX 620W PSUATX 12V V2.2, 80 Plus, Modular, 2x 6+2-pin PCIe, 8x SATA, 120mm fan GPU; Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0, 2xDVI-I, HDMI, DisplayPort, 725/1000MHz, "Dirt 2", Full CPU ; Intel Core™ i5 Quad Processor i5-750 2,66GHz, Socket LGA1156, 8MB, Boxed Hardrive; WD Caviar® Black 1TB 3,5", SATA, 32MB Cache, Dual Processor, 7200RPM Dvd-rom; Samsung DVD-ROM SH-D162D Black, IDE, OEM Total ; 8 857 NOK=1 513 USD Cost; -110 $ Edit; "go with a decent 500w" I see I dont need so much watts for the GPU, but what if i'm going to upgrade? Or will the next generations try to conserve power?
Sorry for double posting, but would it pay off to change the mother board to a cheaper Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P? It got the same features I think; Socket-AM3 AMD 770+SB710, ATX, DDR3 , Firewire, GbLAN, PCI-Ex(2.0)x16. You can't crossfire the GPU's with that mobo, but I don't think I'll need that... So anyone got experience with that mobo? I appericiate all your answers, its a great help!
That 620w will be fine for if you want to Crossfire your 5850. Perfect. [editline]08:24AM[/editline] What's wrong with the one you chose first?
Nothing really, its just a bit cheaper you see. I may just stick with the first one. And one think I want to ask you guys. What is the big advantage with SSD over hard drives? Would load times in games be faster? I've heard they have no moving parts which mean mechanical failure is impossible.
