Station Cash wearables won’t degrade at all but when you loot something, it will degrade. Please note the original player always keeps their SC purchased wearables.) This gives the great feeling of whacking some unsuspecting fool who decided to bring a knife to a gun fight.
I like this idea, but there should be some kind of timer on how often you can put your wearables on a new character after dying or something.
Seems like every tom dick and harry will be running around with station cash wearables after they kill every newbie they see wearing them, and if the person wearing them can just go and create a new character with the same ones on, only to be killed by another person that will loot them.
Other than that I like their thinking. People have bashed this idea a lot but I think that they are the people who have the best chance at doing something great so far; After all they already have a great engine to build on which just happens to support a lot of what they are aiming for already (Enormous detailed maps, 1000 player servers, vehicles etc)
im sorry but free to play just sucks no matter what tbh
Not a fan of 6 since it's pretty frustrating and and nagging you when you find crates with that system, and I imagine it'd be maddening to be starving, dying of thirst, with no ammo and utilities, only to stumble excitedly onto a crate and try to bash it open only to find it costs 2.99 to take the goodies inside.
Cosmetic F2P stuff is always fine. Emotes are fine, and so is charging to look fabulous. I'm in a zombie apocolypse, I don't mind being stuck with my jeans and flannel shirt.

And you still have 250 hours in Path of Exile.

There are good games with good Free2Play models.

And there are tons of potentially good games ruined by bad f2p

would prefer if it wasnt free to play and that goes for pretty much every free to play game ever
the games themselves dont have to be bad its just that "free to play" rarely is better than the regular buy & play
Speaking as a former Star Wars Galaxies player, the idea sounds pretty decent, but I just can't see this game taking off. I just feel it's going to fall victim to jumping into the bandwagon of something way too late in the game. With other games already becoming staples of the zombie apocalypse setting, this is like making a WWII shooter just as everyone gets tired of seeing WWII shooters everywhere. Then again, modern shooters do the same thing and the world still continues to eat them up.
However, the idea of a game being F2P with absolutely no "Pay2Win" or even "Pay to Use Alternative Balanced Playstyle" sounds pretty cool, but I'm not sure if it's possible to base their entire profit projection off of that. I think it'd have to be pulled off similar to TF2. The hats are sold for a price, of course, but half the reason people buy them is the fact that there's just small enough of a chance that they could earn them for free in-game; when they play endlessly and don't earn the reward they've been waiting for, it further entices them to just buy the item because the game and the community seems to hold it on high enough of a pedestal to convince the player to make the purchase.
