The final decision was taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh met and discussed the issue, a highly placed source in the Ministry told The Hindu. An official source in the Ministry said: “The Home Secretary has resigned. I have no further details.”
Sauce: http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/home-secretary-anil-goswami-sacked/article6857295.ece Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saradha_Group_financial_scandal I'm kind of surprised that he didn't get away. Given the usual state of affairs, he'd have somehow escaped the consequences, but I suppose it's the new wave sweeping the country at present - like when my state's CM got chucked in jail for massive graft.
Damn, I was hoping this was the British Home Secretary. I would like to see Teresa May gone.
