Playground arguments over the quality of Nintendo versus Sega games happened all the time in the late ‘80s and ‘90s. But did hardcore fans ever expect to drop the old rivalry and watch these two Japanese game companies create games together? Probably not, but it eventually happened. Friendly faire like Mario & Sonic at the Olympics poke fun at that relationship, but Sega has taken the next step and inserted another important Nintendo franchise into its latest update for Sonic Lost World. In it, players can take the blue hero for a spin through The Legend of Zelda Zone -- a free stage that will be available for download through the Wii U eShop on March 27, 2014.
This was announced a while back, not really a WTF moment. Very cool though still.

Uhh, I don't care which way you spin this - Nintendo licensing its characters to other people is kind of a
"WTF moment".

Sega and Nintendo have a mutual understanding at the moment, they're basically partners.

They already did a Yoshi one...
I remember one stumbling upon the Twitter of a Sega fanatic who hated Nintendo like it were still the bitterest days of the console wars. I'd love to see people like that reacting to this

Not WTF to it being announced, but to how it looks

Utterly delicious?
Surprisingly neat crossover.
Sonic and the Black Knight 2

Sonic and the Unarmored Green Knight
Wow, what a hell of an artstyle clash.
Not really surprising since smash bros

It's been decades since Nintendo and Sega were rivals, have you been living under a rock?

If you were to show that to a fanboy from the early 90's they would probably have a aneurysm.

...why show them Mario and Sonic at the Olympics when you can show them this?

i think the SSX thing is the biggest proof, it wasn't a game nintendo developed or published. it was made by EA!
I'm tempted to buy this game just for the DLC now.
I really wish they'd make a full-fledged Sonic Adventure/Mario Galaxy-esque game featuring both Sonic and Mario characters, instead of the Olympics franchise.
