• If I have a regular phone SIM-card, will it fit in the iPad?

Since I am nearing 2000 PTZ on Lockerz, I was thinking of maybe getting and iPad with 3G. I have an iPhone 3G as well, but I was wondering if that SIM-card I have will work in the iPad? And it has free 3G internet, so would that work too?
You need to cut it down to microSIM size, but yeah they're electrically compatible.
It is indeed possible, this might help you out. http://www.techradar.com/news/computing/apple/how-to-make-your-own-ipad-micro-sim-681020
Oh... Well, I don't feel like cutting in my SIM, because I'd still want to use it in my iPhone. Thanks anyways.
get microsim adapter, cut down sim, swap between iPad and iPhone
Yeah, that'd work just as good, since the stuff you cut away is actually just plastic.
Switching the sim cards between an ipad and a phone can cause problems.
How?
Taken from the AT&T website: Question: Can I use my iPad micro SIM in my new iPhone 4 and vice versa? Answer: No, the micro SIMs for iPhone 4 and iPad are different and have different attributes provisioned to them. Switching SIMs between iPhone 4 and iPad will result in a loss of service and other potential disruptions to your AT&T account. It doesn't just have to be an iPhone 4, but any other phone. I just found this in the "iPhone 4 FAQ"
Just bullshit to make you buy two plans
Just bullshit to make you buy two plans
Try switching the sim cards and tell me the results
Just bullshit to make you buy two plans
I'm not too sure about this. AT&T (and possibly many other carriers) have most likely made it so that if you're using your iPhone SIM card in an iPad they won't grant you access to the network.
Well the problem is, if you use a phone SIM card in a non-phone device, like the iPad, I'm sure it would cause problems if someone tried dialing that number.
As far as the network provider knows, you're just using 3G. I'm pretty sure they can't tell the exact phone your using...
Yes they can. I switched my sim card to many phones and my phone on the AT&T site changed with the change.
But they don't seem to care much? I'm using my iPhone with a rogers pay as you go sim (I disabled data, but they still offer it on the standard payg sim for $10/month).
