Well here it is, what I consider the greatest movie genre of all time...Zombie horror. Done right you can come up with a great movie. Unfortunately there are a hell of a lot of spoof shitty movies. For example Zombie strippers and Zombies zombies zombies. Over the years some of the greats have been. Night of the living dead. Day of the dead. Dawn of the dead (2004) Shaun of the dead. 28 Days later. 28 Weeks later. Zombieland. Dead snow. There have been forums threads completely related to zombie survival. We have seen video games, books and websites all on it. Zombies can now be considered the most famous of all the fictional evil creatures. There are 2 types of zombies. Dead zombies (Usually slow and dim witted. Main source of food is brains) and infected zombies (These are the more modern types. They are usually fast and usually are not looking to eat people, but more kill them for the sake of survival.) So heres is the thread. Discuss zombie movies out or already out. Or anything you want to see in the future for movie production.
28 Weeks Later was shit compared to Days Later, I'd have to say out of all the movies listed though, Dawn Of The Dead 2004 was the best for me.
Contrary to what most say, I too enjoyed DoTD 2004.
Dawn of the Dead (2004) is a great movie, I and my friends loved it.
Best zombie movie ever made.
I've seen almost every zombie movie ever made. -Night Of The Living Dead -Day of the Dead -Day of the Dead (2008) (People say its a remake of the original, I think its a shitty zombie movie with the same name, cause it has nothing to do with the original) -Dawn of the Dead -Dawn of the Dead (2005) -Shaun of the Dead -Brain Dead -28 Days/Weeks later -Dead Snow -Tokyo Zombie -Bio-Zombie (Great Hong Kong zombie film, I should remake the thread) -Return of the living dead (God that movie was fucking terrible) -Zombie Land -REC -REC 2 -Quarantine (Original always better) -"Evil Dead 1/3" are considered zombie movies, right? At least some people said that, they was some of the best movies I've seen. -God Awful Resident Evil movie series. -Resident Evil Degeneration - That was fucking great. -Zombie Strippers - A mistake I will never do again. -Slither -Reanimator I know I watched 2x more but I can't think of anymore. I love zombie movies so much.
Land of the Dead
28 Days Later was for sure the best zombie film I had ever seen. Do your self a favour and watch it!
Damn of the dead - romero, beats the remake by a mile
ZombieLands the best
I have seen a fuckton of these, the best ones are always from the 80s.
Shaun of the Dead no contest.
Dawn of the dead is one of the best, must've seen it 10 times.
Best zombie movie ever made.
I remember seeing that when I was about 8. That old lady's ear (or nose) falling into the soup always creeped me out.
Return of the Living Dead was fucking awesome. Gratuitous amounts of violence coupled with a zombie chick with great tits.
The 2004 DOTD is nothing compared to the original.
Dawn of the Dead - you know what this is. Diary of the Dead - It's about film makers that run into zombies. Land of the Dead - Awesome movie, loved it Survival of the Dead - Coming out this month. Night of the Living Dead All directed by one guy
I loved the Dawn of the Dead remake and Zombieland. Both were epic. There haven't been many zombie movies coming out lately but I'm sure that will be remedied soon when another blockbuster zombie movie hit arrives. Like Zombieland 2 :v:
The zombie films lately are all about visual effects, and not eerieness/horror. :sigh: The old ones will hold a special place in my heart
I was so disappointed with Quarantine it just didn't do the spanish one justice.
I was so disappointed with Quarantine it just didn't do the spanish one justice.
Well it's the curse of America's ego
That lawnmower scene from braindead made me feel a bit nauseous the first few times I watched it.
I only saw Dawn of the dead (2004), Shaun of the dead and 28 Days later. DOTD was actually my first zombie movie and I really liked it a lot.
I just realized, the OP is missing REC./Quarantine (Which ever you feel more comfortable with).
Those aren't really zombie movies, they are great horror flicks, just not zombie movies. Also, me and my teacher argued about which Dawn of the Dead was better. In the end we started talking about Trogdor.
I fucking love zombie flicks.
Am i the only one who didn't really like Zombieland?
Yes.
I love 28 Days Later. Rabid by David Cronenberg is great too but nobody else seems to have seen it. I am well aware of what cities like New York and London were like in the past from all the movies shot there so it's a fun change to see 1970s Montreal. It's a bit cheesy at parts and some people would argue that it's not a true "zombie movie" but it's a really good watch anyway. trailer:
Am i the only one who didn't really like Zombieland?
I found it funny and enjoyed watching it, but it seemed a bit incomplete and plotless.
Zombieland was a let down. It started off so well, but as soon as they arrived at [sp]Bill Murray's mansion[/sp] the movie just completely veered of course. My opinion of course. It is still a good movie. I LOVE the original Dawn of the Dead, and I often find myself debating over which Romero movie was the best (Between Night and Dawn). The gonk music over the end credits is so awesome. I also like the new one too, and the 2004 remake has probably one of the best introductions ever.
