Saudi Arabia claims to have repelled a Houthis offensive into the kingdom, shot down a scud missile - Polidicks

If an invading army gets troops into Saudi Arabia I think that escalates things to a scary new level. War weary or not, the US cannot allow that. That's the kind of thing that can get Iran bombed, if their proxies are crazy enough to invade Saudi Arabia.

Raytheon's Patriot system was in direct competition with Israeli Defence contractor Rafael, but they lost out to Rafaels Iron Dome concept, the software was written from scratch by israeli software company mPrest Systems which was put in charge if programming by Rafael. The whole system went from design to combat in about 4 years. That being said, it's impossible to compare the two because they serve two completely different functions. One is a short-range C-RAM system , and the other is a ballistic missile defense system. Granted hitting a super sonic object with another super sonic object is much harder than hitting a subsonic object with a super sonic object.
