Luckily, he wasn’t in possession of Dukes of Hazzard toys, or one Boston-area man might really be in trouble!
What 26-year-old Kevin Young of Watertown failed to recognize is just how quickly times are changing, as it’s now no longer okay to be an ordinary punk rocker.
Not only was his “replica ammunition” belt enough to incite “panic” on a bus Friday afternoon, but police noted he was “wearing what was described as spiked fighting gloves and spiked leather bracelets,” according to the Boston Police Department’s official website.

In other words, Young dressed like millions of guys did in 1982, but nobody ever thought to call the police on that basis alone.
Oh wow. I actually have this 0.223 Cal bullet bracelet and I'm saving up a bit to get one of the M60 bullet belts for myself, like the one he's wearing... good thing I don't live in Boston. :v:
Why is everyone so fucking afraid of guns to the point that even the ammunition scares them?
That bullet belt in OP is cool though

Plenty of people out of touch with subcultures, I guess.

And yea, they're cool as hell, I always wanted one of those but never bothered to get one.
now i really want to become a punk rocker, just out of spite
this EXACT kind of response is why punk culture exists in the first place
Knowing punks, I imagine this will lead sales of bullet belts to treble.
imo they look stupid but it's not as if they're gonna jump off the belt and fire themselves solely because they *look* like bullets
What the hell...

Thanks :v:
It's rather heavy on the wrist, and since I have a hairy wrist/forearm, my hair gets caught up in it and pulls my hair, but other than that... I love it, hehe.

A guy once told me that back in the '80s, one of his Punk buddies used to put minced meat in his pockets, and let it rot for a couple days in it... then wear them, and walk around and use the subway/bus.
The stench alone was enough to scare people away from him. That guy was Punk as fuck :v:

There was a nurse at the local hospital. Off duty cop admitted himself and told the nurse that he had a gun on him because he was an off duty cop and she got hysterical and started crying.
Another time someone with a CCW left a magazine in the fitting room at work and the associate that found it panicked for some reason.
People have an irrational fear of inanimate objects.
loooooooooooooooooooooooool
are you serious
have these not been in every store, forever
my friend used to wear one of these
"used to"
Personally I think they look silly and over the top and don't get why just cos it's a bullet it looks cool, but that's just wot I think, so long as your not walking around wearing something with legitimately explicit all over it then whatever.
People are just hysterical these days, back in the day you'd see someone like this and probably laugh at them and them with them after they make a self effacing joke. This kind of hair trigger hysteria crossed with busybody nonsense is something that really grinds my gears, just because some Jenga tower of a nervous wreck broke down at the sight of someone who isn't in keeping with the bland social pattern that has numbed all their senses into autonomy. Like yeesh, these people need to just calm the fuck down. Here in the UK most people are wound so tightly you could run a bow down them and play them like a cello, but after enough booze and a decent weekend of debauchery we cope.... just...

I lack the body and clothing to pull this off, but serious props to anyone who can, that looks rad.

I don't know...maybe because of this

No Mongolians are getting past that post.
nice longass post
that is not referenced or connected to fucking anything at all to make it relevant in the slightest
just a fucking line of text
great work dude, you've been working on your posting skills. Fantastic job.

Context would really help, is this statistics on gun killings, police shootings, gang killings, clown stabbings and where did you get this? anyways seeing a demilled ammo belt shouldn't be that scary, I suppose it is more so people assume those people have guns on them and are planning to shoot the place up. Essentially people get triggered from seeing bullets.

Each one has a name/number/city/state they're shootings, google any line and it gives you a result.
Congrats Western world. "Terrorism" has seeded itself inside you so deep now that simple and arguable fashion crimes now fall under the list of reasons why you should fear for your life and call the police.
I don't know...maybe because of this
(rubbish)
And?
That's not a punker(looks more like a hot topic customer), bullet belts are so popular I remember little teenybopper girls wearing them in high school, and if you read the rest of the article, the case got thrown out. Whoever flipped their lid on that bus must have just come out of their home for the first time in 30 years

why weren't people terrified of guns to the point of this incident happening in previous years then, when gun deaths were much higher?
[editline]14th July 2015[/editline]
I mean gun deaths were actually at their highest in recent years when this sort of thing was really in fashion (mid 1990s)
People actually still want to wear stuff like this? Christ.

Still a stupid fucking reason. People are taught to fear the instruments and not the people that can cause this harm. Otherwise what will be ban next? Knifes? fireworks? pressure cookers? Everything is a weapon if you are smart/strong enough.
Plus, banning shit will never work. Tell me one instance where banning something has actually helped. This can be anything, from cars to guns to food.

Here with your references inside.
Good! Belts and Flags are the cause of all our problems. Once we ban them, all the bad things will go away.

With ammunition that deadly one starts to wonder why you'd even need a gun.
Each one has a name/number/city/state they're shootings, google any line and it gives you a result.
why would I care to that degree
This is the same city that has a 252 foot long antigun billboard, not surprised people are scared of fake ammo.
I think its more about a police officer being a dick rather then being related to gun stuff in any way.
