yo the fact that this game is still kicking shows the major support and hype for a proper sequel
hell id be fine with a graphical update to it, improve all models, especially textures on i.e buildings and way more improved character models
Holy crap, I remember them being on 4.0 a few years ago and that was a big improvement too. It's amazing how dedicated the fanbase is, I'll have to replay it some time.
The only thing this article did for me was remind me that WoD has been cancelled. D:
Still on the bright side, its amazing that bloodlines has lasted this long. We really need a worthy sequel to that game.
Every time you mention it someone reinstalls it
Why is this game so good?
I never touched the Vampire series, but everyone seems to love them. Why is that?
this game is fucking dope
Its fucking great up until the last parts, since the company went bust I assume they started running out of money at that point

this one is quite different from the previous Vampire games due to it being an FPS and all.
this is basically an RPG in a really atmospheric environment with fucking great music and neat gameplay
the environment is really what makes this game so good imo. has a really varying mix to it

What're you talking about
You fought a [sp]giant fucking bat and super soldiers[/sp]

I should take a look at it. I'm a sucker for good atmospheres in games.

I remember some really awkward balancing and a ton of bugs. Certain almost necessary items being tricky to find, etc.
That and if I recall correctly malkavians basicaly completely stopped having special speech lines after a certain point, those made everything so much better somehow.

Go for it.
Also best part was obviously the spooky mansion
I'd love to see this ported to the current Source engine. Having to recompile all those models is a real bitch with a 50/50 chance of working properly.
This game leaks atmosphere like a fat man in the sahara desert.
It's so good I wish I could ring it out and drink it.
I didn't know WoD had been cancelled... fuck
Time to reinstall Bloodlines again.
I made a thread about this game back in like 2008 and I expected nobody to know of it and then all of a sudden it blew up with positive comments. I still have this game installed on my computer years later, it is just always fun to play. I never did favor the altered community patches though. I found a different series of patches that only focuses on patching glitches and bugs in the game while leaving most everything else alone.
Playing yesterday I stealthed all of Hallowbrook with a high stealth Malk, the magical katana, and the sniper rifle. My stealth is so high, and its buggy enough, that if crouched in darkness, they can be literally running in to me and not spot me. Of course there are parts designed to garuntee you get seen (even through Obfuscate), so I sit back from them and would take heads off with the rifle. Then watch as they circle around me and go "IS SOMEONE HERE?!"
Troika made some incredible games.
During my first playthrough a few years back I randomly picked Malkavian as my clan. I laughed my whole way through the game. The dialog is brilliant.

def one of the greatest games of all time
I don't know why these articles never mention the guy by name, but the Unofficial Patch is the child (and serious labour of love) of Wesp5.
A lot of the bug reporting and discussion goes off on the forum here at PV: http://www.planetvampire.com/
If you're a fan of the game I recommend you hit it up, they're a lovely bunch of people and committed to keeping this game going as long as possible. Wesp's work, with the help of the community, is truly astounding.
I remember playing this when it was new and I was obviously a lot younger; certain parts spooked the hell out of me but I loved it. It was so different to anything I was playing at the time
