Due to the rain and stormy weather in the past week Bloomsburg, PA is blocked off from the rest of the world. Recent RECORD SMASHING flooding has made the water cresting at 32 feet. Many homes are destroyed and more without water and electricity. There are hardly any news sites covering this so i thought i'd post what's happening. Discuss. http://www.wnep.com/weather/severeweatherhome/wnep-col-flooding-in-bloomsburg-20110909,0,957755.story It's almost at my house. D:
No link or anything?
Newswatch 16 has nothing on it. Lemme go check again.
I'm here in Pittsburgh and I haven't heard a thing about it. I hope everything goes well for the victims and yourself, OP. Best of luck.
We should dig giant pits under cities so they can't flood :)
We should dig giant pits under cities so they can't flood :)
I agree too :)
We should dig giant pits under cities so they can't flood :)
Then it's a giant sinkhole :)
We should dig giant pits under cities so they can't flood :)
No no! what we should do is grab buckets, and then scoop up a lot of the flood water. After that, we just bring the water to our bathrooms, and flush it down the toilet, or pour it down the drain. That'll solve your problems!
We should dig giant pits under cities so they can't flood :)
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but some cities have implemented large storm drains underneath themselves to reduce flooding. I'm in Latrobe and I heard nothing of this. I guess its because we have a trillion people in Shanksville right now and that is all the media is covering.
I live right next to the Forty Fort cemetery. Which is where the levee broke during Hurricane Agnes back in 1972. So when I heard that they were having problems there, I almost shit my pants. Everything is under control now, but I'm so glad that the levees held here. I have a friend who use to go to Bloomburg's University. She got hit kinda hard herself :C
I'm staying with a friend but my family still lives and I used to live at the red map marker in the trailer park, Marked the fairgrounds to compare since the video shows it. The overpass you see on the map is flooded as well. It's weird thinking as a kid that flood waters would be as clear and nice looking as rivers or oceans, but actually looking at them they're just dirty mud pools.

It's filled with a lot of sewage, Mine water, and a bunch of other nasty chemicals.
