Actually, how come the car-mounted camera just infront of the car can't be seen from the drivers perspective? This might as well been shot in several takes to get the fancy camera work right.

So Top Gear is pretty fake in one manner. Sure, they probably do all the stunts but they try to make them far more spectacular than they really are.
It's obviously not him driving it.
