I've built a new PC, and now my second monitor just refuses to detect or even acnowledge that it's connected to my PC.
It shows the motherboard information and the 'starting windows' screen, but after that it just gives me the 'no signal' message and then shows no signs of being connected. It's a Fujitsu Siemens T17BA monitor, I'm using DVI-D cables, and my graphics card is an Asus R9 290. My main monitor is a Benq GW2255, if that's important. I've used these two monitors together for about a year and a half with my old PC, but I was using different cables. I had to switch to two DVI-D cables as my new card only has DVI-D ports.
I have tested this monitor with my PC, as It was the one I plugged into it to install windows. It worked fine on its own, but it's just not showing up now I've got two monitors plugged in.
Anybody have any ideas?
have you installed and updated your graphics drivers?
How does the Windows resolution thing look?

Yes, I've made sure they're up to date.

The 'another display not detected' thing appears if i press 'detect', but the other monitor isn't listed anywhere.

So I plugged in my headset for the first time to play a game with my friend, and now my second monitor suddenly works.
I'm not complaining, but how the hell does that work?
Did you unplug the headset? Does it still work?

Maybe some weird power fluctuation stuff is going on? Super strange, and I'm gonna guess the problem is back the next time you boot.
I have a feeling the cables just weren't seated properly or something, even though I put them in as firmly as I could and screwed them in tight. I knocked them earlier trying to untangle my headset cord and the other monitor turned off again, but they're both working fine now.
I've not yet rebooted, but if the problem returns when I do then i'll post here again.
Have you not screwed the DVI cables in?
I screwed them in as securely as possible when I first put everything together.
