Do monitors have to be the same brand/resolution to use a multiple display?

Right now I really kind of want a window for FireFox to be open while I'm playing other games, but all I have is my old 1280 x 720 monitor. Would that work?

I'm using an iiyama 1920x1080 and an XEROX 1650x1050, so I would think it does yes?

You can do that, yes. I used to run a dual-monitor setup with a 17" Compaq V75 as my main and a cheapo 15" LCD as my secondary. My main ran at 1280x960 and my secondary was 1024x768 (the max res on that monitor). You won't be able to keep both a game window and a Firefox window in focus though, as soon as you switch to one it'll minimize/unfocus the other.

So yeah word of advice, if you're going to do that run the game not in fullscreen but in a window.
