Lando Calrissian reportedly spotted in Star Wars Episode VII script
There are few facts that are actually known about the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII." Fact: it's due out in 2015. Fact: Michael Arndt is writing the script. Fact: it will start a new "Star Wars" trilogy.
It still hasn't been confirmed that this story will take place after "Return of the Jedi," or that it will feature Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia or that -- the biggest stretch -- Darth Vader will be resurrected. But the first two of those rumors have been mostly taken at face value, which is why so many people are bombarding Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford with questions about their involvement.
Well, add Billy Dee Williams to the list of actors who should be bugged. The erstwhile Lando Calrissian has already been asked by TMZ if he'd want a role in "Star Wars: Episode VII," to which he replied, "I suppose so" (in TMZ talk, that equals "LANDO'S DOWN FOR A COMEBACK!!!!!"), but it turns out there could be some substance to that question. A former Lucasfilm employee tells Moviehole that Arndt's script brings back Luke, Han, Leia and Lando in some capacity, though the return of the four beloved characters is far from confirmed.
Considering the fact Lando was alive at the end of "Return of the Jedi" and he was buds with Han Solo again, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch that he would be brought back into the "Star Wars" universe if the other three central characters are as well. For now, it is exciting that Lando (rumoredly) has a role in Arndt's treatment, though it would be nice to have some new characters introduced as well.
Rumor or not, it still gives us hope our black hero will return

Speculation at this point, nothing more. I see nothing in that article that says Lando's in the script, other than "This one guy said. . ."

So looks like most of the original cast is returning...

but Lando is not.

There's been no confirmation of anyone else returning, either. Hammil's said nothing, Ford's only said he'd be interested, and Fisher was joking.
It HAS been confirmed, however, that original trilogy screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan has been signed as the writer for either IIX or IX, so there's something to look forward to.
I think part of the problem with the new Prequel Episodes is they were so closely tied to the Originals, as much as I think having the original cast back would be cool I would rather it is set hundreds of years in the future so it can do more of it's own thing while also not further muddying the originals if they end up bad.
Yeah, I doubt Lando's returning
[sp]That backstabber.[/sp]
it'd be a shame for the only black man in the galaxy to never show up
Lando is the best character. He better be in this.

I hope the story is about the Vusongh Vong(spelling?) wars. It takes place 20 years after the Episode 6 so it should work considering the actors age.
Or just something with Imperials in it, a modern movie with Imperials would be awesome!

Yuuzhan Vong, actually. I still haven't figured out how I want to pronounce that.
Y'know what would be pretty awesome is if HK-47 being alive at this point is actually canon. According to the old MMO he was camped out on Mustafar for 4,000 years or so before being freed by a bunch of pirates who he then slaughtered. His presence might feel kinda forced, but if they could pull it off he'd be an amazing character.
I really hope Lando is returning, I really like Billy Dee Williams
