Koko The Philosopher Gorilla Has A Message For Us All - General

They tell koko something like "Humans broke the world (nature)" and then the gorilla reacts like "You dummies, fix the world" and they record that and post it as if it is some sort of transcendental message coming from the bosom of nature herself.

For the first few seconds I thought this was CGI and got confused

Why did they green screen it and then try to make it look natural, it isn't convincing at all. It makes it look really shitty actually, and like they had to fake it.

Probably should have been named Joseph Smith.

The problem with Koko is that she's nearly fucking incoherent most of the time. All "interviews" with her are her clipped together because her vocabulary is incredibly limited. She can't make a whole sentence, and most of the meaning of her signs has to be filled in by her trainer. Think of it this way. You know the dumbest person (who's not a baby) you've ever met? She's dumber than that, by a lot.

I'd trust Alex the Parrot more. Too bad he's passed. That dude would probably straight up tell you, in human English, to stop fucking up the planet. So far he's one of the few animals that could effectively communicate in spoken discourse on his own.

That was a pretty shitty way to endorse biodiversity... How about all of the potential medicinal ingredients, the importance of biodiversity ecologically, etc.
