When it comes to thinking of presents to gift to even close friends, I suck at it. I was looking for gift ideas for a friend of mine, and I kind of wanted to get her something that stood out compared to the other gifts. No doubt people will get typical stuff like perfume and watches.
I thought it would be nice to reach out to other people to see if they had some ideas of items I had no clue existed.
I came across this site showing a list of awesome gadgets and cool gifts:

This is by far at the top of the list for me

I think I'm more getting it for myself than my friend though ._.
Anyone have suggestions of unique gifts?
I use this for cheap stuff http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/6-/RegionHome.html

As an avid watcher of DVDs and user of everything from Blu Rays to HD DVDs, I find it a nuisance that I have to go back and rewind my discs after I'm finished with them. However once I found out about this, I found that this saved me hours of having to rewind the discs when I'm finished with them so I can start them over from the beginning easily.
Why don't you buy one already?

A lot of really cool stuff:

I have one of these, and it's boatloads of fun. It's quite easy to fly, it's nearly indestructible, if you do manage to break it there's full parts support, it's cheap, and did I mention it's fun as hell? If you're buying for someone even slightly interested in flight or radio control one of these little micro indoor helis won't go amiss.

I doubt you care about ideas for gifts, you just want money off that Squidoo article you wrote, along with the one you posted in this thread: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1243457

buy normal lava lamp
buy absolut vodka 0,7L
Drink the vodka (If youre under legal age, send it to me, Ill get rid of the vodka for you and send you the bottle back squeaky clean, only for $19,99)
Separate the 2 parts of the liquid inside the lava lamp and pour both in to the absolut vodka, making sure they're balanced.
You now have (hopefully) an Absolut Lava Lamp

I've always wanted to take a katana to one of these things :v:
For any Zelda fans.

Also if you're a bit of a DIYer, you can make one of these:

And place the ocarina in it for gifting it.

In all honesty, that looks like a box wrapped in paper with wood effect print on it.

It's made of plywood, the bands are cardboard and the lines in the wood are black marker.
It's a lot of fakery to make it look real-ish, but that sorta goes well with it. If you compare that image to the in-game model it looks very close, if you'd have made it using real planks and stuff it would look more like a real chest than like the prop from the game.
Plus if you where to make it authentically it would be 10 times the workload of that instructable.
I wish I would have bought that ocarina, bought a shitty plastic one for 50 bucks!
For gifts for girls, Etsy usually has really cool shit. I can't browse that website without wanting at least half the shit I see.
Like this, for instance.

We all know what they mean by personal.
Wow. There are a lot of 'personal' toys on here.
Any UK sites for stuff like this?

The Tardis iPhone case is a good gift for a Whovian fan with a iPhone. I bought one for my girlfriends birthday present and she loves it.

I'm getting my friend a gamepad and a flashdrive with a bunch of emulators and roms, he has a pretty shitty computer that can't really run new games so I thought it'd be neat
Recommending Vat19.com for awesome gifts.

I have an 8 gig flash drive, and I could probably fit the entire NES/SNES library without taking up too much space (and I won't be), so I might be able to fit in a low-end PC game or two if it doesn't take up too much space (I was thinking Katawa Shoujo), anyone have any suggestions?
Does he even want games? I mean, if hes a fan of video games, and classic games at that, its a cool idea, but then again, cant he do it himself? And since he has a shitty computer, unless he has a console, he wont be spending that much time on a computer anyway.
