Hey guys, I got alot of Dell 2300's and 46-4700's and I want to put a Gpu with hdmi output so I can hook it up to a projector for Beat Hazard/Audiosurf and other games.
I figured a 4670 would do good just incase with need to do source games, but I do need hdmi output.
Just present what yall think.
A 4670 should be good. If you have the extra money, get a 4770 or a 4850.

I don't know if the Dell PSU is able to power those cards. Plus I herd Dell has weird PSUs with weird connectors that don't fit other mainstream boards.
Most Dells ship with cheap PSUs that barely power their original components, I'd go for a >$100 psu as well as the card.
I'm sure it can handle a 4670. Those aren't very power hungry, are they?
If you're worried about power, get this:

Thanks, yall are the best.

It will power a 4650

Hey, there's a nice deal with a power supply with this:

$60 for a 700 watt from a good brand? Hell yes.

No need for the powersupply that card takes less power than the 4650 if I am correct.
If you get a 4670, get this power supply:

Never, EVER cheap out on a power supply. It can only end in disaster.
Get one from a better company, like Cooler Master, Antec, Corsair or OCZ.

4650 and 4670 probably, they don't require additional connectors.
4850 does though.

4650 undoubtedly, 4670 you might have some issues under load.
Go with Sbradford's suggestion.
Get a 5670. They consume less power than a 4670 and I think they're a little above it, or on par with the 4670.

They're considerably better, roughly equal to a 4830
They're considerably better, roughly equal to a 4830
Ohhh? Well that's good to know.
They're considerably better, roughly equal to a 4830
they are?
According to some benchmarks I saw about a week ago, at least. It gets about 3 FPS less in Crysis, supposedly. I suppose it's closer in performance to a 9800GT, then, based on the multitude of benchmarks I've seen.

I've been using it for three months with no problems.

anecdotal, wait until 19/20 are using it for three years with no problems.

What res was it playing Crysis in? 1920x1080 I'm assuming?

Nope, not the 1gb at least:http://www.hwcompare.com/graphics/compare.php?c=Radeon-HD-4830-1GB-1024MB--vs-Radeon-HD-5670
The 4830 is considerbly better, I got one in my computer...

Why don't you give us real life results.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5670,2533-7.html
Here you go... The first is 4830 at 512mb (I use the 1024mb) vs the OC'ed9800gt (also 512mb).
The second is a 5670 against a not OC'ed 9800gt (though I think it's the 1024mb one, but so are the 5670 too)
Edit: I now it's not a good thing to mix different benchmarks, but I couldn't find preciously 5670 against a 4830.

No.

5670 is better.
The benchmarks on the 4830 only shows the average, while the 5670 only gives the min and max.
But the average frames of the 5670 in Crysis is 34.3FPS, which is higher than the 4830 which only gets 14.2FPS, both playing at 1920x1200.

Erhhh... I think you missed the part saying "Very High Details" And "Custom settings"... At the same time the 5670 get's butt-raped by the 9600GT, so I'd say this prooves even less than my mixed-up benchmarks...
Keep in mind this gentleman will be using the card for games like Audiosurf. Crysis benchmarks are rather irrelevant in this discussion. It's a very safe assumption that a 4670 will be able to handle a game like Audiosurf or Beat Heaven. Source games won't be a problem either, but the graphics quality may vary depending on resolution, etc. (obviously). No need to beat around the bush...a 4670 will be fine. End of story.
