[QUOTE]The United Nations Refugee Agency, UNHCR, estimates that since Yemen's conflict began in March, some 70,000 people have fled to Somalia, Djibouti, Sudan and Ethiopia.
Most have been making the perilous journey by boat across the Gulf of Aden or the Red Sea.
Even the shortest crossing - the strait between Yemen and Djibouti - is traditionally called "the gates of grief" because of its notoriously choppy waters.
Then there is the added problem that none of those countries in the Horn of Africa are really equipped to absorb large numbers of refugees.

Doesn't seem like Somalia is much better off than yemmin

The proxy battles in the middle East rarely affect the backers
If you were originally from Somalia, I guess the improvement would be knowing people there.

Isn't Somalia like only de-jure a state, but de-facto a bunch of tribes?

I'm pretty sure a national government does exist at this point, but there are still other factions controlling certain parts of the country

[sp]You would know; given that Somalia has firmly planted itself on your country's soil.[/sp]
Edginess aside, I'm glad to see other nations - ones outside of Europe too - that are taking the initiative with this refugee crisis. Other countries, in particular those in the region from which these refugees are from, should pitch in.
I'm looking at you, Saudis.

I personally think the best way to combat this is to build up places that are vulnerable (like Somalia) that surround the crisis zone with UN forces and turn them into refugees camps. After building up these more friendly client states, they can be used as a means to contain ISIS and various other threats while Russia does the offensive.
