MOSCOW, June 26 (RIA Novosti) - The whistleblowing organization WikiLeaks said on its Twitter feed on Wednesday that former CIA employee Edward Snowden, wanted by the United States for leaking state secrets, may be permanently stuck in Russia. “Cancelling Snowden's passport and bullying intermediary countries may keep Snowden permanently in Russia,” WikiLeaks said on its Twitter feed, but did not specify the names of intermediary countries. The United States has issued a warrant for Snowden’s arrest on charges of leaking details of a US surveillance program and cancelled his US passport, which Washington says should prevent him from traveling internationally.
http://en.rian.ru/russia/20130626/181880675/Snowden-Possibly-to-Remain-in-Russia---WikiLeaks.html
Good think Ecuador has an embassy in Moscow.
Good think Ecuador has an embassy in Moscow.
he's in russia, I doubt he'll need one [editline]26th June 2013[/editline] like russia is ever going to give the guy up

I seriously hope that my government won't hand him over for Bout or some other shit. As if my country's reputation can't go any lower.
Russia's still a better place to be stuck in than an embassy in the UK.
You still never know about international politics. I just hope he doesn't end up dead.
As long as he can keep himself in the news and commonly known about, nobody would dare try to "disappear" him. Being this open and public about where he is and his activities is probably the best thing he has done so far.
Why is America pulling the 'law breaker' card. Stealing American secrets isn't a crime in Russia.

America is not the KGB, they don't just go around killing dissenters and opponents. I've said a dozens of times and yet again I'll put this out here. If America truly wanted to kill anyone then there would already be plenty of people dead from Assange to Manning. If America doesn't bother to kill these people then why would it start with this guy?
Why wouldn't they try to silence him?
This isn't some terrible spy movie. America isn't a country to go around assassinating everyone ever since the cold war ended. As I just said, America could have assassinated Manning and Assange before they became famous at all and yet they're still here. America and pretty much most of the world have much stopped assassinating each other.
I seriously hope that my government won't hand him over for Bout or some other shit. He's committed no crimes on Russian land, he essentially as quoted by Putin "A free man"

Some of the whistleblowers who came before Snowden have died under suspicious circumstances. But because Snowden has been showboating and staying as public as possible (and because he's using the old 'dead man switch' tactic with some of the stolen info) the US would be very foolish to make him 'commit suicide' or get 'mugged and killed by thieves'.
If America truly wanted to kill anyone then there would already be plenty of people dead from ... to Manning.
Why would anyone want to kill the Broncos quarterback?
Why would anyone want to kill the Broncos quarterback?
That pass he made in the superbowl was criminal.
