Hello PC Building, I need as much help with this as possible, nowadays I generally only play WoW and some other recent games (L4D2 etc). My laptop is currently on the way out, and i'm in dire need of a PC. The only criteria is that it stays below the £800 budget, and can play WoW at top specs. I have speakers, Monitor, KB & Mouse, so they do not have to be included in the budget. I have enough computer knowledge to put it together (with help of a close friend), but I haven't the faintest idea of where to begin buying parts. If this could happen for less money, say £600, that'd be much better, but it's a little flexible.
Do you need an OS?
Nah, work for a computer company - managed to blag a free OS from them - Win 7 [editline]03:06PM[/editline] Bear in mind i'm in the UK, so UK websites (Overclockers etc), would be better.
Here's a £600 build, it'll easily max out wow and will run all modern games well: http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/e1c4dbbede4845949b50b3e4a13264a5
I'm upgrading my PC this month with i5 760, SLi motherboard and 4GB DD3 RAM, which results around £350 with shipping and VAT @ Scan.co.uk and Aria.co.uk So it should be pretty easy to put one together for you. Do you have any requirements besides it have to work with WOW?

Also he can't upgrade as he only has a laptop [editline]03:19PM[/editline] If you want a 'prettier case' change the one in my build for this if you want to spend the extra: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/Coolermaster-CM-690-II-Advanced-Black-Mid-Tower-Case-w-o-PSU
I'm not bothered about overclocking etc, as long as it's quick, that's fine for me. I'm not up to date nowadays on all this computery shizz (Despite me working in tech support). That build looks great Finley, is that everything on that list? (I can probably get a discount through Scan too through work)
Yes, that's all you need apart from a monitor, OS, keyboard and mouse which you say you already have
That's brilliant thanks. I've emailed that list to my contact at Scan to see if I can get some sort of discount, I'll let you all know how it goes! Will I need any additional cooling/cables etc? Or is everything included?
If you get the CM 690 then you won't need any extra cooling. As for the cables the only ones you may need are SATA cables, but they may come with your case/HDD you'll only know when they arrive

So its worth that tiny upgrade for that one extra multiplier seen as they are essentially exactly the same as well as price. (cheaper atm but same price when there are no sales) Source: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=6&subid=1672 Just saying the 760 is worth it because its the same price
Another quick one, sorry guys. Would be best if it had Wireless support if possible?
You could buy a wireless network card, but I don't see the point in using wireless on a desktop, or maybe it's just me.
The routers in another room.

I've been speaking with scan, they'd be able to do me this, for the same price: Opinions?
It's a bit better since your getting the i5 so it's worth getting, although I don't know about that model of PSU. The one I posted was cheaper and modular
So you think it's worth getting that, but with a different PSU?
Yeah it all looks good otherwise
