Asides from Quantum Conundrum all their games have been absolute shit. Murdered: Soul Suspects was such a flop it was on sale for like 50% of on Steam the month it came out.
Oh well, easy comes, easy goes.
One good game isn't enough to save a company, it sucks to be them though.
It's a shame M:SS was such a failure. The concept of a ghost detective had so much potential.
Blow out at Airtight games? Ha!
So much for Kim Swift
While it's always disappointing to hear about people losing their jobs, I'm really not all that surprised. Their games were generally underwhelming and they lost their main "talent" (in the form of Kim Swift) earlier in the year.
Jeeze, is there a company she hasn't left shortly after?
Well, she's 2/2 at the moment, and considering that she left Airtight to join Amazon Game Studios who's debut title was this piece of shit... ...I'm gonna go ahead and suggest it'll be an ongoing trend.
I mean it's always sad when this happens, but I've only ever heard of three games to come out of this studio, and only two that peaked my interest. I guess they just invested a lot into M:SS? Was it really bad? I was hoping it was good because it looked pretty good.
I really liked Quantum Conundrum, and Dark Void was a guilty pleasure game for me Sad to see these dudes go so soon
I guess they just invested a lot into M:SS? Was it really bad? I was hoping it was good because it looked pretty good.
It was a really mediocre game. The protagonist had the same personality as Aden Pierce (none whatsoever), the entire game consisted of pressing E on things and then doing an occasional QTE execution move. There was no gun play, no real combat. I personally enjoyed the game, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, let-alone for the price it's at. [sp]Also the ending sucked. Finding out who the murderer is was pretty underwhelming.[/sp]
To think one of the founding members of the game Portal went onto found that company
I bet she's regretting leaving Valve now.
So what happens to their IP now?
It's a shame M:SS was such a failure. The concept of a ghost detective had so much potential.
This video was the first I heard about MSS. It doesn't seem too bad, really.
To think one of the founding members of the game Portal went onto found that company
What? Airtight was founded the same year HL2 came out.
To think one of the founding members of the game Portal went onto found that company
She didn't found it; she just joined it.
aww, i liked M:SS :( i dont get the funny
Ouch...
The issue with Murdered: Soul Suspect: It was a fucking $60 game with no advertising.
I wonder how much some of their kit was being sold for. Would have been nice to snag some monitors and desktops for cheap, too bad I live all the way on the other side of country.
The issue with Murdered: Soul Suspect: It was a fucking $60 game with no advertising.
They probably knew of the game's shortcomings so they didn't bother.
man that's like a 10 minute drive from where I work, might see if I can get anything
What was wrong with MS:S that made it flop?
The protagonist had the same personality as Aden Pierce (none whatsoever),
That doesn't mean too much. Gordon Freeman didn't have a personality.
That doesn't mean too much. Gordon Freeman didn't have a personality.
But Gordon Freeman had a game behind him. Soul barely even has a story.
Guess their business plan wasn't exactly airtight
