Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.
To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.
For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming weeks.
The problem is the batteries are exploding everywhere. The battery is non-removable. If you have a note 7, you got a ticking timebomb. 35 people have already been known by samsung to be hit by this.

Look at those photos all I can think is; Wow!...just.....Wow! :ohno:
And this is why non-removable is a terrible idea especially lithium based batteries.
If it was removable they'd just have to recall the batteries not the whole phone.
Oh wow, I was just a few days ago considering switching to this. Good thing I didn't, I guess. Wew.
Me and my friend were just talking about getting this phone today:v:
[Sp]I still want it[/sp]

with removable batteries you have to make big compromises elsewhere though, as someone who sells this phone and many others on a daily basis i can tell you that it isn't something the majority of people who buy smartphones like these want or care about
they fucked up big time though, the S7 Edge battery is amazing so this is surprising. Apple is announcing the new iPhone in just a week, no doubt this will impact sales
Hope nobody got hurt.
Non Removable Battery doesn't mean what it says most of the time. Yeah it won't just pop out like a removable one, you'll have to unhook a tab and then slowly pull it out from the cheap adhesive it's stuck to the case with, but that's about it. I wish they'd stop doing this though. Just sell spare batteries, or in this case, ones that aren't faulty, or trade Note 7 ones in for new ones and send'em out
I know my phone is 'non removable' but it's one tab you unhook, and then peel it off the adhesive and that's it. You can even order a new one for about $15
Samsung's funding of isis went wrong.
Yeah, fuck battery explosions.
skynet, is that you?
Waiting to hear a recall for mine. Gonna suck going back to a Note 5 for a bit while they replace it, I fucking love the phone.

Depends on the phone, for the HTC One M7, you'd have to melt the plastic around the sides to even get into the internals iirc :v:
Just got mine yesterday and haven't had any issues yet. Hopefully I don't have to send it back and then wait for them to send the new phone to me.
Edit: Also the manufacturing date for mine is 2016.08.21

IMO Korean phones are overpriced. Id go with a Huawei or HTC. Chinese phones have essentially the same hardware for less than half the cost

Well the one thing about the newer samsung phones is that once you start messing around with the glass screen and backing, theyre very prone to shattering. That was a problem that ifix it encountered iirc.
I mean yeah I wish that I had the ability to remove my battery as i have the s6 edge and at this point using it for over a year its basically the battery is shot

You shouldn't expect issues with it just because they are being recalled, it's not like they've announced issues with a device and now every ones device is going to self destruct the second they charge it, if your device is affected, which it might well be, it could take days, months or years for it to actually explode.

Huawei and Lenovo have incredible hardwares considering their prices. However the ones that we've got here have shitty Chinese roms and requires you to flash it yourselves or you'll be stuck with all the junks they come with.

Or, if you're adventurous, a xiaomi is ridiculously cheap for good specs.
I was optimistic about the note 7 but eh. Even aside from this, it has a locked bootloader and other build quality problems such as a very easily scratch-able screen. I'm just going to wait for a nexus to replace my note 4, if I decide to replace it.

actually they stopped using adhesive for a lot of phones since it adds to the fire and they realised it was hurting their refurbished phone market
This sucks, I just got a note 7 last weekend. Outside of this the phone is really good, hopefully mine doesn't explode before I send it back.

Can confirm. I have a Xiaomi Redmi 3. Dirt cheap and surprisingly good.
Joke's on them, I still got a slidey keyboard phone.

i'd be happy with a 2cm thick phone that has a huge removable battery and a qwerty keyboard
oh wait, we're past those times :suicide:
Bummer, I'm due for an upgrade next week and was looking forward to getting a really cool non-exploding phone.

Isn't the Blackberry Priv like that?
I actually can't wait to get to experience getting a brand new phone for the second time in the span of a few weeks.
Plus I fucked up the screen protector and I'm super lazy so I look forward to the replacement. Since all the screen protectors out there suck, I'm going to leave the plastic on the front screen this time until a good one comes out.
I was just going to upgrade to one of these in the coming days, too. Damn.
Isn't the Blackberry Priv like that?
looks pretty cool, but that price point ugh
not a lot of other options though

Or Xiaomi or ZTE or OnePlus or Asus
Even TP-Link make smartphones. Yup, that router manufacturer.
Just imagine the amount of shitshtorm that would be, if that happened to iPhone.
