My current girlfriend wanted a portrait drawn of her so i more then happy did so.
Tell me what you guys think.
It took about 3 hours and i used 4-6B pencils plus an F- Pencil

Looks really great, but you probably should have got a better reference image. (not a myspace picture)

It was actually her senior photo haha but i guess if you wanna be that guy then yeah. sure. its a myspace image hahaha
thanks though.
Well can you see what I mean, though?
The above angle and it almost appears she is holding the camera herself.

Hm, a bit strange for a senior portrait I think, but anyway, great work nonetheless.
Looks great, one small thing, did you draw it on an angled table? The proportion seem to look slightly better if you view it from a low angle. I just asked because I constantly have to force myself to correct errors from drawing from an angled perspective.

haha no one ever said she was the brightest but i love her hahaha

No, i did it on a flat surface. Maybe because i constantly lean back and draw idk though.

Well drawing on a flat horizontal surface while sitting upright could skew perspective. It's a pain in the ass but drawing on a vertical board is the most error free I find although I can't stand it, not being able to rest my hand on anything drives me insane.

It's an interesting way to do a headshot. I like it.
Teach me your ways!
haha yeah i need to find a new way to draw definetly!
The original has like a simple feel to it and that's why i think it worked.
Woah that's incredible, very life-like. The subtle shading on the face works great.
That's almost photo-realistic, terrific job david927, I bet she's really happy for you doing it :)
I thought first that it was just a photo, thinking "meh" but then I noticed that it was drawn.
Wtf shes hot
also great drawing
teach me your ways
not your drawing ways, the other...
wow, thank you guys!
and yeah, she is hot :) glad i got her!
and sorry. you can
t use my ways, their copyrighted :D
I like the contrast between her shirt and her face. Very well done.
Oh and nice catch buddy
Wow very realistic, looks like a photo and not a drawing on a quick glance. Great job.
The problem I see is not in your technique but in your reference picture, as has been mentioned.
It wasn't obvious to me what the hell was going on in your portrait. I couldn't make sense of the geometry. I saw a female head, very well-rendered, and what was probably an arm to the left of the head, and then some strange thing that looked like a squished foot to the right. When you posted the original photo, I realized that you had rendered the photo faithfully and quite well, but the pose the girl was in made both the portrait and the photo visually confusing. I didn't recognize that I was seeing a shoulder on the left and a wrist on the right.
