It's about damn time
This is the third time they've said this so don't get your hopes up :v:
I don't find it all that bad.
But I'll tell you one thing. Its YEARS behins the Origin customer service.
By far THE best service I've seen.

I'm thinking it's because of the amount of kids and generally dumb people involved with tf2/dota/csgo trading. The sheer amount of "baaaawwww he hacked me and stole my hats (aka i was dumb enough to click on a weird link)" probably affects the whole service in a certain way, like creating strict rules and stuff
Valve explains why Steam's customer service is bad and how they're working to improve it for the third or fourth time
"Yes guys! We're really gonna fix it! We promise this time!"

Ironic how the copycat has good Customer service, but shitty DRM policies to their games.

origin has generally less DRM than steam though...?
Valve have kinda become a joke recently in terms of developing as a company. The only thing that looks good that they have done is the vive.

Steam sells DRM free games that work fine even when Steam isn't running or installed. I don't think Origin does that

Origin doesn't sell titles that would ask for that because they don't have the market share.
However, its really easy to circumvent origin with older games. FYI, only games with origin actually built in require Origin.
So things like Red Alert 2, Wing Commander and the older games the released for free are easy to get to.
I feel like I've heard this before.
So instead Valve are training people, with the goal to get support times down in time for Christmas.
Shouldn't be too hard, just have them answer before Christmas 2030 and that'll do it.

Well, they didn't refund me when Skyrim went on sale a day or two after I bought it full price...
...but then again, they actually didn't do too bad when I had to recover my account. I forget why I had to though, but nevertheless, it wasn't bad. Not Origin levels of optimal, but ok.

Late, probably
But it's worth reading up on this

I hope they at some point actually do something about it.

I actually never launch Origin to play my games, actually. The only one in my library that really requires it is BF3.

Not really. You just think this way because they didn't release any games for 1-2 years. The Steam controller despite being different seems to be rather good, Source 2 has left a good impression months ago with the alpha tools and the Vive of course. With Source 2 coming close to completion it shouldn't take long until their next games come out.

Other than stuff like Battlefield 3/4, things that directly need Origin running, most of their games run fine without Origin running.

Yeah, a bunch of games I have on Origin run fine without having Origin launched. Stuff like Dead Space, Mass Effect, and some older Battlefields
