Yhis just started happening a couple days ago. Whenever I boot up my computer, it will go just fine. Up until it hits the Windows loading screen, then it reboots itself. Then goes to the "Windows did not start successfully" screen, and prompts me to either go to "start Windows normally" or "last known good configuration".
So, like any sane person, I go to hit the up arrow to select "last known good configuration".
The only catch is that my keyboard won't do jack shit until Windows starts up!
I found that unplugging the keyboard and/or the mouse will let Windows start normally, but I cannot get further than the password screen due to these devices being disconnected.
I have not made any hardware or software changes that might have caused this, and I desperately need the use of my computer so I can enjoy the new TF2 update.
Any help is appreciated.
Perhaps the keyboard drivers are not working. Get a different keyboard.
Buy or borrow a keyboard.
Test it.
Post results.
Wait! I found a workaround to the problem. I just have to unplug the mouse, boot up the computer, then plug in a USB mouse once I get to the login screen.
