Awesome graffiti, boring photos.
Awesome graffiti, boring photos.
will dancing raptor monkeys in the background make them more exciting?
Awesome graffiti, boring photos.
when taking pictures to show off the graffiti, a documentarian approach to the photos is a must. Doing weird angles, funky lighting or having people in them distracts or completely obstructs the artworks being shown off. Having said that, kudos to the respective artists. I live near chicago, and there's a great deal of graffiti I see between the different areas I visit, or at least the freight trains that pass by my house. Only problem is that they're 95% illegible tagging, scribbled hastily and usually covered by a newer tag. There are, though, clever people who do simple things that really stand out to me. For instance, driving through the city saturday, the highway dipped down into a below-street-level area, with many bridges and such, about 5 stories deep. Cavernous, at times, when travelling under buildings and intersections. Up on a wall, far out of reach when you try thinking about it, was the word "FORGIVE" written in simple, easy to read lettering. A message, to be read by those gazing out their car windows for that brief moment it was in view, from someone who went and did the impossible to reach an untouchable space. It almost felt like it was meant for me, as it related to a situation I had been thinking too hard on... and you know what? It was right. I needed to just forgive and forget. I have.
I love the fourth one, these are great. Makes me want to go out with a piece of chalk or something. :v:
