The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday encountered a backlash for publishing a full-page advertisement from a group denying the genocide of Armenians during World War I.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/wsj-ad-denying-armenian-genoicde_us_57181c7ce4b0c9244a7adae0 I don't care how much you're paid, that's a fucked up thing to run in a paper.
We ought to have used peaceful language with the turks but we did not
Holy shit, understatement of the goddam century.
Holy shit, what is it with Turks trying so desperately to deny and cover up the Armenian genocide, it's fucking unbelievable.
Haha, oh turkey. You disgusting people, you.
I still find it stunning that people/countries, even with overwhelming physical evidence, deny that these atrocities took place. The world has literally shoved their face in their own shit and they won't accept is theirs.

If the Neo-Nazis took hold of Germany today, of course they would cover up the Holocaust.

The Ottomans commited the genocide, the current Turkish government overthrew the one responsible for it.
I wrote a paper on denial of the Armenian Genocide last semester, it's disgusting because its usually not even just full on "we did nothing" but stuff like "yeah there were some killings but it wasnt that bad, you guys need to suck it up and get over it".
Holy shit, what is it with Turks trying so desperately to deny and cover up the Armenian genocide, it's fucking unbelievable.
you know the irony them trying to deny it haves made me more aware of it

Holy shit there was skywriting outside my dorm yesterday with the URL of this website.
Disgusting.
? The Ottomans commited the genocide, the current Turkish government overthrew the one responsible for it.
That's kind of irrelevant as the current Turkish government is on the verge of being a dictatorship which longs for "the good old days" of the Ottoman empire. It's like saying the Nazi party was anti-monarchist because it formed in the Wiemar Republic, which overthrew the German Empire. It's technically true, but it doesn't really matter.
I wrote a paper on denial of the Armenian Genocide last semester, it's disgusting because its usually not even just full on "we did nothing" but stuff like "yeah there were some killings but it wasnt that bad, you guys need to suck it up and get over it".
The irony of statements like this is that these people can't accept that thier oh so precioius country did something terrible 100 years ago and they can't accept it.
? The Ottomans commited the genocide, the current Turkish government overthrew the one responsible for it.
Erdogan is closer to the ottomans than ataturk. He's a negation of turkey's secular, nationalist legacy and is more like a Muslim brotherhood Islamic conservative type that meddles in the affairs of sunni muslims outside turkey.
fuck turkey
honestly, looking at the advertisement, i can understand why they didn't catch what the underlying meaning was.
It's because the government that perpetuated the act is still (in spirit essentially) in power. If the Neo-Nazis took hold of Germany today, of course they would cover up the Holocaust.
Most neo-nazis would probably just Uncle Adolf didn't have enough time with his ovens or something in really bad taste. Either way though, I cannot fucking fathom why the Turks still deny the Armenian Genocide. Thousands of images exist of them killing Armenians, thousands of beheaded people, its just... What.
