Who else thinks a documentary about Hitlers life should be made?

I am very surprised that there is no movie about his life, or at least not one I've heard of. Hitler had a very hard life growing up. His father was cruel to him and died in 1903, his mother soon followed. Hitler then went off to fight in WWI as a runner and became heavily decorated. Then of course beer hall putsch and the nazis, his rise to power, etc. This could make a really great movie, if done right.
I'm pretty sure there a lot of them.

I mean like a big one. Like Saving Private Ryan big. A 2 1/2 hour journey through Hitlers birth to his death.

I don't think there's any real need. There are thousands of shows about Hitler and The Third Reich and his young life. A biographical film drama may be an idea, but even then I don't know. A movie that may suit you, if you haven't already seen it, would be Downfall. It is a German film detailing the final days of Hitler in Berlin as the Russians and Americans close in.

I've seen Downfall. That is why I want this, because that was a good movie, and a whole movie on him would be good. There really is no need for a lot of movies, but they are still badass and made.
There actually is one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitler:_The_Rise_of_Evil
Pretty good imho.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it.
It'd be awesome to see interviews with people who knew him back when.
"You went to school with him?"
"Yes, I was a young girl then, any young man my age who could grow a mustache caught my eye. Adolf's though was a sad little thing. He asked me to the senior dance you know."
"Did you go with him?"
"No, because he only knew one dance, he called it a goose step or something like that. I thought it looked ridiculous."
"How did he react to you turning him down?"
"He said that's mein kamf, I think you Americans say it as 'that's the story of my life'."
I can see how such a movie would arouse controversy because of the somewhat sympathetic role Hitler would undoubtedly be given.
But, if it were done right it'd probably be a great movie.
I don't think they'll give sympathy to Hitler, but more or less give an insight to all of his thinking to show how utterly evil/batshit insane he really was.
Maybe not a sympathetic film but one that is unbiased and untouched by the jews that control the media and every bank

Watched this in History a couple of years ago. It goes from his birth up to getting into power - it's a two part miniseries so it's quite extensive from what I remember.
Problem is you're never going to get a mainstream film that paints Hitler in, I don't want to say sympathetic, but rather an unbiased light.
This is because A) In our incredibly idiotic society, You run the risk of ridicule and slander if you don't immediately paint Hitler as anything less than evil incarnate B) a LOT of the big agencies and producing companies are either jewish, or backed by jewish interest groups. Anything remotely anti- Semitic doesn't stand a chance.
Hell it took like 20+ years before German soldiers could be depicted as human beings.
I have no doubt it would be a very interesting film in the right hands, even great, but it won't ever be a major film production coming out of hollywood. Foreign films like downfall (which is a fantastic film) are all you will get.

Agree, if i would like to see a film about Hitlers life i would want it to be as neutral as possible, a film where you could almost understand him. Not a film that just try to show how evil he was.

You've never seen "Mein Führer" (My Führer) then :v:
[editline]1st September 2011[/editline]
Though I admit it caused controversies.

Biased documentaries are the worst.
It would seem that every Hitler documentary I've come into contact with is unbiased as anything. Useless to a historian.
