Union Township man stabs two women after clearing out their shed seeking 'portal to hell'

Her housemate, who is 50 years old, is in serious but stable condition at that hospital.
A 33-year-old neighbor who is being labeled a hero by police suffered minor injuries when he intervened. He was treated and released.
Morgan Mesz, the 25-year-old suspect who lives on Nottingham Way with a girlfriend, is in custody. Mesz, who was armed with a knife and hatchet, is expected to be questioned after a psychological evaluation is finished, Zieser said.
The violent and bizarre encounter started just before 6 a.m. today on Longview Road. The two women went into the backyard when they saw that the contents of their shed were strewn all over, but the shed door was closed, Zieser said.
“One woman opens the shed door and they were immediately pounced upon,” he said.
Mesz repeatedly took a long knife to both women, he said.
The attack continued until a good Samaritan neighbor jumped over a fence and engaged the man. The neighbor was slashed several times before he found a novelty baseball bat on the ground — among the shed’s contents — and struck the suspect in the head, splitting it open, Zieser said.
When officers arrived, the suspect was walking toward the front yard, blood running down his body, and the neighbor was screaming for them to stop him. Mesz received stitches at the hospital and will be returned to police custody after a mental evaluation, the director said.
After his capture, there was concern that Mesz may have injured someone else when he said he had “cleansed” his neighbor last night, the director said. Officers scoured his neighborhood before finding a woman who said Mesz had arrived at her house last night and wouldn't leave for hours. She was not injured.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is working with the township police as they investigate the attack.

Imagine he accidentally chose the wrong shed, and he now will go to prison and his heroic quest to save the world failed. The portal however will spew forth the sons of hell.
