I need some video editing software that doesn't suck ass and isn't hundreds of dollars.

Every video editor I've used is either free and difficult to use featureless garbage (virtualdub) or horribly shit ~$70 editors with good interfaces but built for fucking idiots to use with no good advanced options (Cyberlink Powerdirector, which I've literally abandoned in favor of Virtualdub because at least Virtualdub gives you fucking options on how to save your final videos) or, in a worst case scenario, both (Windows Movie Maker). Everything that's anywhere near GOOD tends to cost around $600 (sony vegas pro for instance). I don't have more than $100 to spend on this after I've already just spent several hundred dollars on a video capture card and a bunch of converters to record PS3 and Wii games.
Anyone know of something I could use?
I don't know of any good video editing software apart from Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro (which is only for Mac)
Well I am not rich too but I obtained Sony Vegas.
I think it was at some kind of a bay. Might want to look there.
There aren't many nice and cheap choices so you can always find a bottle o' rum and find an easy alternative.

Should I try Adobe Premier Elements? That seems pretty cheap.

The free version doesn't support the video format my capture card saves as
Vegas Movie Studio 11 or 10 is pretty cheap here, it's $45 but packs a lot of professional-grade features.
Trust me I've done enough cinematic music videos with it. I never release them though!

Thanks mannnnn!
Free trialin' that shit.
Avidemux?
If you're not afraid of Linux (and reading), I would highly recommend KDE non-linear video editor, I've only used it for some simple stuff, but it seems like it has a pretty good feature set (and it's completely free).

I think I can do a whole lot better than that.
I've used Vegas 7, 8 and 10... 7 is the best by fucking miles. 10 is a buggy piece of shit. They're all pretty cheap though, if you feel like paying for it.
I learned jahshaka once.
Never again. Use KDE, it's worth installing linux.
Any capture card worth it's money comes with a basic video editor e.g. dazzle comes with pinnacle studio, hauppauge comes with arcsoft thing

I used to use 12 but then I got premiere and after effects. I hear 9 is the best, I liked 12 while I used it though.
Sony Vegas Movie Studio 12 is less than $100, I'd recommend that too
I second Kdenlive, however it's Linux-only. I've been using it exclusively and it works a charm.
