GOG Galaxy seems okay to be honest. Completely hassle-free patching and DLC activations about sums up my experience so far.
GOG Galaxy seems okay to be honest. AVG deleted some install files without permission for the game. I thought Galaxy's verify game integrity feature would fix it or at least notify me which files were deleted. I had to go through the whole rigmarole of looking for patches manually and reinstalling them. Early days still I guess.
I think they already missed the train for GOG Galaxy to really be a social platform. I'll use it for updates, but my friends are already on Steam and they're not going to leave.

GOG for old games, Steam for new games. A much, much better platform than what Uplay and Origin try.
It's like, so pointless. It's only nice for updating, that's it.
It's like, so pointless. It's only nice for updating, that's it.
I don't have all my games installed at all times. My connection is fast enough to quickly download games and uninstall when I'm done. I'm not sure if GOG has steam cloud-ish support yet but that would make it a perfect platform. GOG is already an established game retailer unlike origin and uplay. Therefore it makes more sense to have a client.
It's like, so pointless. It's only nice for updating, that's it.
You can also buy games through it. And add friends. I suppose it's totally pointless, just like Steam is. Personally I'd be happy with a DRM-free version of Steam gaining some momentum.
