These was given to me by my grandad which have been in our family for 20 years they work perfect no damage on the cones just one tweeter had some damage but works fine has anyone seen these speaker before i did a google search on them only 1 result what do you guys think ?

This is a nice floor speaker. Max power handling is 170W which isn't too bad (though given its age you wont want to run it that high) and at 8 OHMs this puppy can be powered by many old-school receivers. I say hang onto it.

Just did a quick Google search and your receiver is rated at 6 ohms and your speaker is rated at 8 ohms. This means that your speakers have a higher resistance rating than your receiver MEANING that you will have to drive your amplifier section harder to deliver the same level of volume that a 6 ohm speaker would produce. Other than that you should be fine. If the mismatch was the other way I'd caution you to be particularly careful about how much power you pump to the speaker due to the potential risk of blowing it.

Ah yes you are quite right. I stand corrected (these old `scanned' in manuals can be so hard to read with my eyes).
