Windows won't let me set my resolution to 1440x1050, saying that my native resolution is 1280x1024, which I know for a fact it isn't. For over a year, I've been using 1400x1050 as my resolution, but today, it won't let me. Is there a way to force Windows to display 1440x1050, or a way to fix this? My monitor is a Westinghouse L2046NV.
Windows Update probably installed new drivers for your GPU, and that resolution isn't supported by them. Try updating them from ATI, NVIDIA, or Intel's website and then try 1440x1050 again.
Doesn't work.
What graphics card do you have?
Worse case scenario is probably getting PowerStrip to create a custom resolution?
My graphics card is an ATI 4850. I've been having some issues with it but I've been able to get around them. Like some games making my monitor display an out of range error unless I played in windowed mode. Maybe this is just my video card about to die?
I've got a 4850HD. Try the 10.3 drivers on their website, they work just fine for me and I've heard people have had issues with the newer ones. If that doesn't solve it, well, I don't know.
