just go to dell. This isnt really meant to go into the "PC Building" section is it?
"just go to dell". This is why we don't have 12-year-olds on the internet.
"just go to dell". This is why we don't have 12-year-olds on the internet.
come on, its for their mum. I doubt she will need a custom built gaming computer or anything fancy.
nobody mentioned it being a gaming computer, but she can definitely get something better if she doesn't go dell.
yes, this looks like a whole PC to me
he doesn't need a gpu, just get a cheapo motherboard with an HD3000 in it or something..
What people fail to understand is that building a computer is only cost effective when making high end gaming computers. For basic web surfing and email, you are not only better off buying a pre-made one, maintenance is easier because you just need to contact the manufacturer.

She probably only needs something that she can turn on, check emails, go on facebook and buy stuff online. What more does a mum need?
Get a nettop or something then.

Get a netbook instead.
Or a nettop.
Someone should just build him a PC :/,
Do you need an OS?
Is there a monitor already involved? Might as well get a crappy motherboard with a sound and graphics card integrated in if its for the mother. 500gb hdd might be going overboard as well, and 1-2gb of crucial ram should work fine. So that would be *does numbers in head* 250-300 us dollars if you get a case with a power supply pre-equipped.
He needs it Australian dollars though?
Thats why I said Us dollars and not just the number, because I don't know the difference between the two currencies.
2 words, Currency Converter.....
USD and AUD are nearly the same value (thanks google) http://www.google.com/search?q=USD+to+AUD [editline]08:59PM[/editline] ninja'd
Yeah, by the end of the year our Australian dollar is meant to go parity with your US dollar! =D
A nettop is a good idea, I'd recommend an Eee Top, or if she wants portability she can get an Eee PC which you can connect peripherals to.
