Good thing that they will have an open beta to raise awareness that it looks and plays too much like another WoW clone.
Put your mouse over the image in the article.
I wish they'd extend this to a normal 24/7 open beta already,
9 hours later... This is announced. Someone at Trion likes me.

Why would you need to sign up to "secure" a spot in an Open Beta? If it was limited, wouldn't that make it a..... Closed Beta?
Rift is incredibly generic.
A friend of mine scored me a spot in the beta last weekend, and although it's fun and more enjoyable then any other MMO I've played, the idea of paying money every month for a game is just really really stupid to me.

Guild Wars did it and is still doing it. So is Global Agenda.
Guild Wars did it and is still doing it. So is Global Agenda.
Much smaller player base, heavily instance based, no persistent world, costs ALOT less than MMOs. And they're not MMOs.
I think rift sounds like the only MMO ill be interested in, so I bought it an am giving it a try. I played the beta a good long while and I enjoy it.
Much smaller player base, heavily instance based, no persistent world, costs ALOT less than MMOs. And they're not MMOs.
Guild Wars 2 then.
Guild Wars 2 then.
Pretty sure they're using microtransactions in GW2.
Better than monthly fees.
Better than monthly fees.
call me when guild wars 2 is pumping out huge content patches with no additional cost $15 per month for something you play a lot is cheap as fuck anyways, unless you're young and don't have a job
