Prime Minister Stefan Löfven has announced fresh elections, just three months after voters last went to the polls.
I wonder if that national socialist party will get in this time, seemed to get pretty substantial votes last election?
We have no national socislists.
To be fair, from what I've heard the Social Democrats have pretty much spent most of the last century in power and turned Sweden into a haven for unconditional immigration. So anything which loosens their grip on power again sounds like a good thing.
SVP
yeah, but they aren't in the government.
Just hoping that either "Alliansen" and the Social Democrat Party, the Green Party and the Left Party can compromise so that the Swedish Democrats (far-right, anti immigration, many of their politicians have expressed racist thoughts publicly) don't get a say in anything. If they get a say in the Swedish politics, it will be the beginning of the end of Sweden. It will ruin Sweden.

The only sane thing for Sweden to do is to vote M and her allies and SD into majority power, so that this country can be fixed. And no, SD is anything but far right, nor are they anti-immigration, only the current system founded by unchecked socialist rule for 50 years.
There is no way that SD's ideologies and politics can help Sweden.
How can removing something that costs in over 150 BILLION sek a year NOT help the country? If only a fraction of that is sent to help on site, it'll do far more than it does here. I look forward to the socialists getting kicked out of government once again, and M and SD going back to being the ruling block.

But IF that number was true I'd gladly have it spent on helping those in need instead of let's say our military.

Oh here we go again with the SD arguing.

Anyhow from my standpoint the reason why we actually need more money for elderly care, our health care etc (not police though?) is because of the right-wing rule we've had the last 8 years before this election which has punctured our budget with nosedived taxation and privatization of the public sector.
im gonna vote for M just to get rid of the retarded green party
Can anyone please post a pie-chart of the current Swedish budget, as well as possibly describing how those percentages are being used? The more I see people saying, "150 Billion SEK(20 Billion USD)" to things like immigration and refugee help, the more I cannot help to think something is up in Sweden regarding your taxes.

I swear to Kung Vasa, if SD gets any more power i'll train a moose to hunt down Åkesson...
Again, that's a speculative number on how much money that could potentially be saved by cutting immigration from one party so it's not to be taken as a fact.
Well that's why I'm asking for a pie chart :v: I literally have no clue what your taxes pay for and all. I just know you guys have ludicrously high taxes like most Scandinavian countries.
No matter how bad a party is, you can't just completely ignore them like this, as they were democratically elected. This whole mess is caused by the massive load of shit that the rest of the government/rest of the parties has taken towards SD, and ironically, discrimination, instead of cooperating with them at all. SD basically went "if you say fuck you to us, we say fuck you to you" and bam, there's a collapsed government. pretty much this:
To be honest it's understandable the SD would do this. The other 7 parties have treated them like shit for the last 4 years and they keep doing so even after they became the 3rd largest party. Of course they will be harsh back when they are not invited to even the smallest talks ever. I'm not saying that SD should dictate everything but people gotta learn to not treat them like they are NSDAP reincarnated, because they are not.

The more other parties refuse to cooperate with SD, their role as the balance of power just intensifies. Sticking your head in the ground whilst screaming racism isn't going to solve anything.
This can only really end in some form of cooperation with SD from the mainstream parties. The election results will likely be the same, the only other possible resolution of this spectacle is that it goes on for long enough for either SD to lose confidence among voters for stirring shit up over a single issue or the mainstream parties loses votes because of their refusal to make any concessions regarding immigration. Either SD will gain more support as martyrs, or people will get sick of their rouge shit and go back to a traditional party. Will be interesting to see indeed.

The party with the most votes get to rule the country. Nobody else. None of this bundle-shit we've got going right now where several parties with less votes can cause a complete political gridlock on a decision, especially one as big as a budget plan.
Would someone be able to give a quick run down on Swedish political situation? Source still left me a little confused.

Coalitions are better because they still agree on things together and there's discussion even within the ruling parties themselves so while it might feel like less gets done, there's far less space for unfair fuckup. Besides, America just spent like entire voting period in complete gridlock sooooo it obviously doesn't help that either.
