As he said at the beginning of the video, Nicole kind of pampered him at first, made him feel confident, sexy, and powerful. It's one of those things where he couldn't help but being around her because he wasn't aware that she was just playing him into a trap.
As someone with bad self-esteem/body image issues, I can definitely see how easily this can happen to people. If you are dating someone that gives you confidence you wouldn't normally have, you'd latch on to them no matter what.
