:toot:
Damn, that's a lot of infected computers on Valve's botnet.
more then WoW?
more then WoW?
I think this is the 30 million registered accounts on Steam. WoW has something like 8 million active accounts.
congraduletions
To meet this demand, the Steam infrastructure has been increased and now has ability to run at 400Gps, enough bandwidth to ship a digitized version of the Oxford English Dictionary 92.6 times per second.
Does this mean we won't get shit like "steam servers too busy to handle request" at all or just much less?
Heh, I remember back when it was pretty much only Valve stuff on Steam. Ohh how times have changed.
that's pretty fucking massive
I think this is the 30 million registered accounts on Steam. WoW has something like 8 million active accounts.

pushing the total number of active accounts to over 30 million
Steam wins :)
I think this is the 30 million registered accounts on Steam. WoW has something like 8 million active accounts.
12 million.
Grats VALVe.
Steam wins :)
Because you don't have too pay $15 per month to keep your account active.
Really shows that my "friend" who is/was developing a game decided to pull out from selling it on steam is an idiot.
Really shows that my "friend" who is/was developing a game decided to pull out from selling it on steam is an idiot.
Who would actually fucking do that? Seriously?
Steam wins :)
Whoa holy crap, active accounts? Unless I'm mistaken, the number of active Steam accounts is higher than the number of XBL accounts, I don't remember MS specifying if active or not in their reports (I might be wrong though).
Who would actually fucking do that? Seriously?
This idiot. http://steamcommunity.com/id/bagnohax
Whats this compared with xbox/psn?
This idiot. http://steamcommunity.com/id/bagnohax
What he's making and pulled from steam, I've still got the beta installed though hilariously. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/nullbreaker
Even though there are 30 million accounts, I have never seen the active user count go over 3 million at once.
Valve is awesome  congrats valve!
Whats this compared with xbox/psn?

On February 5, 2010, Marc Whitten announced that Xbox Live had reached 23 million members.
Note "members", not "active members/accounts". I think Steam is bigger than XBL and PSN combined, and then some.
Just think of the money pouring in.
Woah, every active user has probably spent atleast 50$ on Steam, and that's like 150 000 000 $ for Valve
Whats this compared with xbox/psn?
Sony doesn't play ball with releasing PSN account numbers, I would assume that the active accounts are in decline or else they would have announced it. The most recent stats I can find are 14 million active accounts in November 2008, and 50 million registered accounts in June 2010. As for Xbox Live, Microsoft announced 23 million active accounts in February. So in terms of active accounts Steam has them both beat. [editline]18th October 2010[/editline] As for registered accounts, it probably beats PSN's 50 million as well, though we can't be sure.
:toot:, valve.
I remember when we were getting news updates about THQ, Ubisoft etc coming to Steam. Now pretty much every PC game is on there.
Woah well done valve! I love Steam as a platform
99% of which are inactive or scam accounts
That's half the population of Britain. (I think) Jesus shit.
