What for switch to android?
No love for the ipod touch :crying:
What for switch to android?
Dual Boot. [editline]12th November 2010[/editline]
No love for the ipod touch :crying:
You can do the 1st gen, just not with Bootlace.
What about the 2nd gen?
Nope. OpeniBoot hasn't been ported to the 2nd gen. Also, Bootlace does the 1st gen; just not OpeniBoot (has to be manually installed.) Right now it's still incredibly slow... GPU drivers are needed for this to be usable any time soon.
jesus hexxeh stop wasting time on the ipad and get openiboot working on the touch 2g
or even the 3GS

iPad is a better target I think. Not for Android, though...

Isn't the max resolution in Android 2.x capped to something lower than the iPad?
Isn't the max resolution in Android 2.x capped to something lower than the iPad?
If those tablets can have Android installed on them with no problems, I'm sure the iPad can do fine.

Just tried it out on a iPhone 3G. it isn't too bad, not everything works exactly how it should, but that is to be expected. OpeniBoot is very useful though. Your target market is probably non-existent, as the only people who seem t buy iPads are the idiots who think jailbreaking is "immoral". Plus there are more than likely more iPod Touch 2g owners, who would be much more thankful than iPad owners.
kleemajo is already working on iPT2G. I don't think doing the iPad is a waste of time. I think iOS could be replaced with a far better alternative, like a full Linux distro. Any work done on iPad works on iPhone 4 and iPT4G too.

But seeing as someone is already, a iPad port wouldn't do any harm now as it wouldn't be wasting one of the better developers.
Once he gets iPad then iPhone 4 iPod Touch 4 should be easy

I think I've killed Android. It won't boot now :v: It's looping some error related to speakers or something. can't quite read it due to small text.
I think I've killed Android. It won't boot now :v: It's looping some error related to speakers or something. can't quite read it due to small text.
Did you shut it down via the console/shutdown option or did you shut it down with the home and power button?
Did you shut it down via the console/shutdown option or did you shut it down with the home and power button?
I used the shut down option mainly as I was in a rush. I have a strong feeling it hung while shutting down somehow mind you.
I used the shut down option mainly as I was in a rush. I have a strong feeling it hung while shutting down somehow mind you.
I think that caused it (If it did hang and somehow did not complete the shutdown.) because when it doesn't shutdown correctly it corrupts something as far as I know. (This happened to me some times) I think the only way to get rid of it is reinstalling.

Reinstall time it seems. That didn't last long.
Installing now.
Wow, this is good, if a little slow on my 3G
Wow, this is good, if a little slow on my 3G
That's as fast as it can get right now.
Wow, this is good, if a little slow on my 3G
With more updates and tweaks it should start running at the right speed. It is missing the GPU drivers it seems, so there is no hardware acceleration, meaning, yes, the UI will be ungodly slow at times.
And no android market
And no android market
Google won't let them add that in. If you have someone with a official Android phone you can hack it onto yours. There is a tutorial on the iDroid wiki.
