So, I have this problem, I want to get bootcamp on my macbook, but I am having some troubles. Turns out I don't have it. I also (For some reason) don't have the installation cds.
So Is it possible for my to download bootcamp for a mac anywhere? I've been googling like crazy but lack the ability to find anything.
Sorry if this is a dumb, silly or frivolous post. But I need some helping finding a Bootcamp download, And im fairly new to apple products, or this sub-fourm in general.
Thanks!
Which OS are you running?
I downloaded the 3.0 bootcamp files via a torrent. It's silly that apple doesn't provide these drivers as a download -- only the updates. I left my install CD at my house... but I'm at university and need winders :|
Your two options are download the bootcamp files via the internet somewhere, or get someone's SL cd and install from that.
The problem is that the drivers included on the discs are typically a specialised build for your machine. So if you've lost the discs then I'd suggest calling calling AppleCare to get them to post out two new install discs for roughly $20 (AUD) each. First is the install DVD that you want and the second is the Applications disc with the Apple HW test as well as iLife, etc on it.
You don't have the Bootcamp Assistant on your Mac (Applications/Utilities folder) though? That's weird. Are you running a Mac Mini/Pro Server? They don't come with Bootcamp Assistant installed.
In all honesty, if you just need to run a program or two you're better off running VMWare or Parallels Desktop.
