Skip to 10:35 for the actual demonstration. This is out now for $300 http://www.emotiv.com/apps/epoc/299/ You get a disk when you buy it so you can play almost any game you have on your computer, this is legit and real, and it's amazing. I almost can't believe it.
That's awesome, I wonder how fluidly you'd be able to play games such as first person shooters.
I remember reading about something like this a while ago. Still, pretty cool.
scary
would be awesome playing tf2 just by thinking the moves. would be glitchy but so much more faster if you train yourself
This combined with that plastic 360 sphere and those goggles could make the more real game out there.
I just watched that entire video, this is kick ass. If you compare this to the other old brain wave watching devices which they tried to use on people to do things like this, this is a lot faster and learns really fast. I hope that this becomes really good, affordable and an actual widely used device.

Looks awesome!
Looks pretty fantastic.
I love the idea. I can't help but wonder how it would work in the FPS world though, would you just think: "Shoot that guy in the head"?
"USE THE FORCE MARVIN" That made me lol :v:
I hope each one of those headsets comes with an attractive woman to put it on for me.

Looks like they stole the idea and made their own version. I stick to my opinion: The problem with these headsets is kinda same as with the joysticks and console controls. They suck BALLS at FPS games. You go to an FPS game with only this headset and youll get instantly raped, This kind of game control is only good for macrobased game controlling, as theres no "kill that dude" macro in the software which the control uses. You actually have to think "down" to get the screen go down. (So its only good for games which use simple controls, like WOW)
Wonder if you have to shave you head?

Maybe a game where you use different powers by thinking different thoughts. It opens up a lot of new possibilities. This is unfucking unbelievable. Seriously, I always wanted to do something like this. I'M SO HAPPY TO BE ALIVE DURING THESE YEARS! :3:
Who said you can't use it as a complement to the keyboard?
well yeah, But it's not a switch. Think it as a wii controller. If you want to do something you got to do plenty of unnecesary and time wasting crap to achieve the emulation of pressing a virtual button. Its more of a meter than a switch or a button. The older models which were on development few years ago were more of buttons and switches than meters. You'd have to think percisely one thing everytime to activate a macro. If you'd like to emulate a keyboard with this thing you'd need to have multiple switches. So it'd be like using one-hand keyboard. Most likely really really slow. And if you'd accidently think about something else -you'd flip the "switch". And that's the problem. So its kind of like writing with keyboard and using the one-hand-one-finger-aim-and-hit technique which you see some people use in the local library. Except that everytime you're doing something unrelated(thinking ANYTHING) you'd be dragging your fist around the keyboard. asdsd vfs< g-*close*. Oops there goes your excel project.
THis is just a beta version, in the future it will accomodate many more commands and macros like holding guns and picking up/throwing objects.
Dude imagine a multiplayer game were you are some sort of telekentic/wizard/thing and you use your mind to control your powers.
I don't think I could use this. Porn would just keep popping up :\
I wonder what would happen when you get distracted by a spray in TF2.
I wonder what would happen when you get distracted by a spray in TF2.
I'll have the game make me explode if I do that. :v:
