I will either be getting this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280536999945&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
UK Only - no newegg shit
Or building one, but when it comes to building I ain't a clue so all help is appreciated, it will be mainly used for gaming and uni work.
I don't need a HUGE HDD 500gig would be plenty.
I like nice looking cases :3:
Only thing I can salvage on my current pc is my mouse. Don't include monitors and shit into the build price, I will add that later.
Hope you can help, thanks.
So I suppose you need an OS?
So I suppose you need an OS?
I know someone at MS who can get me one cheap so don't include an OS.
What is your monitor resolution?
What is your monitor resolution?
Dunno don't have one yet, apart from this one I am using now but I will not be using this.
£500 exactly assuming you can salvage an optical drive

Thanks, what can I expect to run on that build?
Most games on max settings. All source games on max for example
Thanks again, I don't spose they make it for you too? :v:
Also with that build the Ram is out of stock, could you remake it with cheaper ram that is instock with this case? (Does it all fit in this case)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/CiT-1003-Black-Gaming-Case-No-Psu-14cm-Side-Fan
Also that graphics card is sexy an all but it is also out of stock
Thanks :3:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GeForce_GTX_460_Cyclone_OC_768_MB/1.html check the benchmarks there to see roughly the performance you'll get
change the RAM for http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/4GB-%282x2GB%29-Corsair-XMS3-Classic-DDR3-PC3-10666-%281333%29-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-9-9-9-24-150V, it's slower but it won't have any noticeable effect on FPS
for the 460 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/768MB-Zotac-GTX-460-SYNERGY-3600MHz-GDDR5-GPU-675MHz-Shader-Clock-1350MHz-336-Cores-DVI-mHDMI the cooler isn't as good but if you need one that's in stock
that's a pretty shitty case you picked there, the 300 is known for being one of the best all round cases for low budget builds so stick with that
But I like pretty cases with lights :buddy:
Also would this be cheaper on ebuyer?
I used to like lights, now I cant sleep with the computer on.
Also just curious, what would that pc be able to handle that I posted in the OP
Cold cathodes, sure, but no fan lights. They're just terrible.
[editline]08:43PM[/editline]
Automerge! :argh:
No, and you can put coloured fans in your 300 if you really want

CPU is the same but GPU is utter shite. It would run source games (old ones) okay and that's about it. Also the rest of the parts would probably be bad quality

It's really that bad? I thought it was quite good, I checked the graphics card on youtube and people have gotten crysis running on very high, I know it depends on the rest of the pc but what would I have to change on it?
they're running it pretty shittily
there's a big difference between running a game and running it at a playable res, and when the game's doing anything fancy I doubt any of those would be playable
[editline]09:13PM[/editline]
the difference between a 460 and a 220 is a 460 is maxing a lot/most games at 1920x1080 while a 220 would be doing the same at 1280x1024, worlds apart
There is this one too: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intel-Core-i5-650-Gaming-PC-4GB-1TB-DVDRW-1GB-220GT-/280537004677?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs
I can always ask him to take the card out though..
stop looking for builds on ebay, 99% of them are terrible and the ones that aren't are because the person selling doesn't know how to sucker people who don't know better
I know but buying it all seperate always costs a lot and means building it :frown:
you're getting more for your money and building it is piss easy, screwing things in and plugging in cables
Hm I guess, I guess I don't feel comfortable spending £500 really :/
What would a £400 build look like?
How is £400 different to £500?
Trust me i have a GT240 and it runs crysis awefully. I don't get how you can like that CIT case, it's revolting.
How is £400 different to £500?
It's a £100 less..
How is £400 different to £500?
where did you go to school?
It's a £100 less..
I mean if you're can spend £500 why spend £400?
I mean if you're can spend £500 why spend £400?
Because I don't really want to spend that much if I don't have to.
