President Barack Obama took his leave of the White House press corps Saturday with a sardonic blast at Donald Trump, the Republican Party and even fellow Democrats in his final tart-tongued stand-up riff for the White House Correspondents' Association dinner. Trump, the widely anticipated target of Obama's barbs who was memorably skewered in 2011, was not in attendance -- a fact that did not go unnoticed by the commander in chief. "I am a little hurt he's not here tonight," Obama said. "We had so much fun the last time. And it is surprising -- you have a room full of reporters, celebrities, cameras. And he says no. Is this dinner too tacky for The Donald? What could he be possibly doing instead? Eating a Trump Steak? Tweeting out insults to Angela Merkel? What's he doing?"
Holy shit 2016 has been too surreal
Oh my god that was funny.
This is something they used to photoshop and The Onion would run. Not something you would ever think actually happened, and it's great.
Sorry your late Obama.
zero fucks given from Obama tonight, damn [editline]1st May 2016[/editline] that death panel joke, man
Obama's going to be a phenomenal post-president.
Obama; the gangsta president... PEACE
There will never be a cooler whitehouse duo than Barack and Joe
I wanted to see Bernie's reaction to that [sp]comrade[/sp] joke :(
The little video near the end which featured [sp]Boehner[/sp] was great
Obama's going to be a phenomenal post-president.
Like a more likable Bill Clinton I think.
Say whatever you want about his policies and time in office but as an individual Obamas a fuckin cool dude of a president
Holy shit that was hilarious
I wanted to see Bernie's reaction to that [sp]comrade[/sp] joke :(
It was like everyone was strategically placed to have their faces covered by the camera
Seeing these makes me curious to know what a Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders press conference would look like.
Seeing these makes me curious to know what a Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders press conference would look like.
A Donald Trump one, going by his speeches so far, would be gold.
Man he roasts Hillary lol
I'm going to miss him.
9m 5s, "The last time I was this high, I was trying to decide on my major."
Looks like Obama is pro-marijuana. [t]https://facepunch.com/fp/ratings/weed.png[/t] That whole correspondence speech left me in hysterics though.. between Sanders, Trump, some of the subtle GOP jokes, the Boehner cameo in that Couch Commando clip, and the stab at CNN.
jesus fucking christ is this a white house dinner or a comedy central roast starring barrack obama :v:
It's a shame we are going to be losing this kind of personality from the White House. Obama knows how to throw some humor into his job. Also just remember he asked Keegan-Michael Key to play as his "anger translator" at the previous Correspondent's Dinner.
I'm convinced that Obama was genetically engineered to be the most charismatic being on the planet
remember when presidents weren't pop culture whores?
remember when presidents weren't pop culture whores?
Are we talking about the one who famously famously ascended to Meme status with his own political party or the one who's funeral set the standard for funerals to this day or the one who fundamentally only became President because the army that he lead liked him a lot? Please clarify. Oh wait maybe you mean the one so popular his party tried to repeal the limitation on presidential terms for him or the taciturn figure who declared a space race between us and the Soviets or maybe that quiet grouch who told us to read his lips.
remember when presidents weren't pop culture whores?
Remember when every President ever, well every President over the past 70 or so years perhaps, would use the correspondent's dinner to lightheartedly poke fun at themselves and others? Even Bush did it.
God dammit i wanted to hear the rest of the material he had on Trump.
"Left journalism to join CNN" Fucking savage
I'll pay to go see him do standup. Maybe Comedy Central will give him a show.
When I first saw this on facebook I thought the mic drop was one of those edited Obama clips, like that other one where he also dropped a mic, or a certain one where he was made to glide on a skateboard. Sad to see him go though. His charisma just seeps through every time he makes a speech and you can see that he's legitimately a great guy.
